Hi all, not been about for a few years after selling my Sapporo, busy having a series of adventures and definite misadventures. Picked this up from Datman/Will just over a week ago. He imported it from California, I went down last November to look at an Oz import but saw this one and swooned Built for the American market means it has the bigger 1600 engine, yes... Feel the powaah! Drove it home, was a great drive, had me buzzing! Taken when I got back.. Lowered a modest 3" at the weekend, much better and still great for hauling tat and timber- as I'm a carpenter. ..and seeing as my mojo is returning, a little RR sticker treat..

All sorts of awesome. Plans? Plans may unfold slowly on this, but thinking MX5 engine, and eventually full running gear. Affordable and plenty of support on parts and modification. The 521 is so light an Mx5 engine would make it quick and fun, without the lunacy of an SR20. Got an engine and box already anyway, needs a little work first though. Then get her lower at some point. Going to keep paint and body as is, just clear-coat and protection. Though nothing is set in stone, all this could change of course.

What a gem... Do you have to sit in the back and drink 4X at every given opportunity...?!?!?! I will be watching this build very closely indeed!

Not the most exciting update, but had a bit of time to spare today so got rid of the leaky 'kangaroo pouch' washer bottle.. bag thing. Have been holding on to a 2L imported Asahi beer can since I drunk it at RRG in 2009, now I know why, new washer bottle! Attached pump underneath, pipe from base of the can via modified blanking grommet to the pump... Fitted in using the old bag hooks, wired up, piped out from pump, sorted... Where the bag has been leaking is probably the rustiest area on the truck, I hope

As there can't be many of these about I can assume it's you I've seen riding around Norwich! I've been roofing in Portersfield Road, the exhaust note on that thing is cracking, I was saying the other day how it would be so great to have a classic truck for work. It would make work much more fun! My Transit is a little soulless!

Love using the truck almost as a daily, though got to be a little careful. Transits are great workhorses!

We finished today but will keep eye out for it, I'm from Thorpe, watch for a wave from a white transit pickup or a white e30 318is Beemer.

Hah! Good old 2L Asahi tins! Only way we can get real Asahi in Australia with proper Japanese water. The bottles and cans come from China and there is a definite difference in taste! I was considering turning one in to the exhaust tip on my project as a hat tip to the motor going in.

I bought the can online with a load of imported Sapporo lager (I had a Mitsubishi Sapporo at the time and was being a poser ) From this lot, uk site, though I don't they think they do the 2L cans anymore... www.mountfuji.co.uk/acatalog/Japanese_Beer.html

But more lucky for me, I travel to Japan often enough to get my fix. The proper stuff is truely a great brew.
