Car show with track action are always a treat so when a mate offered to drive me to J(anese)fest and it would be free entry as he was on a club stand, how could I refuse!
Sadly I don't own a cool camera so armed with my trusty mobile I tried to capture some of what I liked.....
A couple of pre-show spots
Cool little K10 in the services, that I was later informed had a MA10ET
Probably the coolest tow car (well IMO) a slammed 2.5TD Omega on BMW wheels
Then on to the show, as is to be expected there was quite a lot of horrifically modified plop. But here is a few of what caught my eye!
Couple of cool cars on the Fast Car stand, were a properly low R32 running 15" steels...
...this awesome, but slightly rough around the edges Prelude...
...and finally a sublime Celica with a Beams engine and 6sp box from an Altezza. Stunning!
A sickly Iron Mask Skyline
Chaser/Mk2/Cressida/I can't tell the difference, all I know is I really want one
BMW M60 V8 hiding inside a R33 Skyline
The I caught a bit of the track action, the chap in this bogo looking MX5 was hanging the out like a hero through Quarry. A definite highlight for me!
Then out came the drifters, always entertaining...
Interesting to see the infamous MJG aka Mike Gaynor drifting an S-body...
Then I made the pilgrimage and walked round the whole circuit, suprising how quickly it feels when yout engrossed in the track action! Anyway on my way round I saw these beauties...
I may have to get my Shuttle back off the inlaws, as the chap who built this did it in 2 weeks on a budget of £500 (including the cost of the Shuttle) Probably my favourite car of the show...... sad I know!
Love these things, can't remember if they are a Honda or a Nissan?
Sweet Primera GT...
Some other badass Datsuns...
Overall it was a good day and it was nice to see Steve aka Sleepyviva of this parish breaking the dreams on the rolling road lol!
