Welcome Automatix, you've got a good base car to have plenty of fun with. These do look good low and with steels, the rest is personel preference. If you have ideas then go with them. That's how my MK2 evolved, in fact it keeps evolving. Keep us updated

Ah cheers mate looks just right for me thanks. As a mk2 owner & nutter i'm lovin all the ratty, hot rod, old school styled german one's and exactly the ideas you have for yours. Instead of all the copycat showcars are all about nowadays.

Looks like a good base you have there and for €200 with 14 months TüV you can't lose! I will keep an eye out for cool mk2 bits in the local area for you.

Those black winter wheels might work well with a Nascar theme:

Have you raised the rusty one up?
And what size are the tyres on the 16" Mimi steels?

Could you not just raise it then lower it again?

Wow! So many transformations. You must have ideas roaming around in your head constantly? I love love love MK2's. I especially like the latest incarnation with the faded chequer bonnet and the graphics. I wasn't bananas about the fake rusty paint but now you've added some more it looks more natural. Don't get disheartened by the lack of comments. Keep updating this thread just for me! I promise to keep checking in.

I love the seat covers. My mk3 is having an air cooled vibe about it and seats have been giving me a headache!!!!

Just read your whole thread from start to end, you must be doing something right as I'm sure you remember how much I like Golfs lol. I am very interested to see how the Clio Windows look when they go in. Also, how much was the Twingo roof, and was it easy enough to find in the first place? Keep up the good work, and telling us all about it.

I love the way this is evolving. And the 'chops are good to see too, it's all part of the planning process!
