never heard of em crushing a car for noise, surely they have to give you 14 days to sort it as per the mot tickets...............

I have a pair of 70 series (I think!) in the attic which I was going to use on my Fifth Ave, but I think the problems of running duals past the tank and rear leaves on that mean I'll stick with a single pipe. I might use them on the Buick, they are about right for a mild small block. Want some bigger Borla ones for the Olds. But if you think Flowmasters are dear, try some of Borla's pricing! But they sound very rich and deep.

I'd assume you'd get a prohibition notice for excessive exhaust noise, however (appart from SVA) there is no legal requiremnt for exhaust noise so its always "in the opinion of the tester" come MOT time.

14 day "fix it" notices are apparently being phased out (and most forces have done away with them completely) in favour of Prohibition Notices.

They can confiscate and crush your car for various nuisance offenses, such as street racing, attending illegal cruises, carrying drugs, hooch, etc. Didn;t think they could do it for vehicle defects Unless they class your exaust as a public order offense LOL.

You can get Flowmasters over here as far as I know. Don't ask me where though; I got mine straight from the US along with some other bits!

According to a sound copper I know off another forum, the basic thing is that under section S59 of the Police Reform Act the police can seize and destroy any motor vehicle which is "being driven inconsiderately and causing an annoyance to others" (paraphrase).

This is the act being used in Nottingham and Derby to confiscate and destroy all Minimoto bikes (regardless of if they are used on public or private land)

If the cops come with a warrant you cannot stop them taking anything. Its covered under the same thing as "resisting arrest" is although it would probably be "obstruction of an officer in the execution of his duties". They can use "reasonable force" to sieze both you and the vehicle, and they are not liable for any damage they do breaking down doors etc to get the car.

Your best course of action is to look into seeing if you can get mr nosey for "malicious prosecution". Arguing that if 19 neighbours out of 20 have no problem but 1 does and therefor this guy has a personal beef with you and thus the car thing is irrelevant.

another lad whos an MOT tester commented that a lot of MOT stations will now no longer stamp the VDR form anyway as they no longer use the stamp after they went to computerised MOTs.
