Haha just asked the question I was going to ;D
Hell Phil ran his Stag V8 in his Dolly on open pipes (GREAT sound) and never had any problems.
Fantastic noise, the best engine note I've ever heard. SO much fun ;D
Loved riding in it!

The various series have thier own sound but they have WAV's on the website (or at least they used to). But then stuff like cam and compression change the exhaust note anyway.
On a Rover V8 I would mount a chamber type muffler in each pipe about 18" back from the merge point. You also want a ballance pipe of some sort and then run the lot to the back where you may or may not want another box each side, in this case something like a glass pack would be fine.
More important than which series muffler you chose is the diameter of the pipe as this will dictate the exhaust gas velocity and this is important. Too small and you build up back pressure, too wide and the gas velocity drops (often taking the torque with it)
Many of the mufflers are available in 2" 2.25" 2.5" 3" and 4" varieties.
Real Steel sell them IIRC as do USAuto. But they are not cheap.

I have had this happen, with both my car and my 2 minimotos, however the motos were used on Private land in excess of 5 Acres which I own, thus the coppers were not able to do anything.
With the car (was the midget at the time) He just said you have 14 days to change it, and he would be back. I never changed it he never came back.

5 acres.... can I park some cars at your place please? I know a lass via another forum - her kids were busted for riding a minimoto in their own garden... told if they were seen again it would be off to the crusher. That was over in Derby though. Not sure if thats any different.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
