Having a garage clear out and need a bit of help here. It was in a box with other mk2 mini parts, theres no icons on it so i'm not sure if its for the wipers or indicators or even if its a mini item as I didn't remove it. Anyone know? Thanks in advance!

Well it's not off a Mk2 Mini, as it'd have the iconic, much-loved green flashing light on the end of the stalk if it was.
Could be from a Mk3-onwards Mini, should just have the indicators/horn/headlamp flash/main beam if it is. Wipers on a Mini were always controlled off a switch on the dashboard.

looks similar to a mk1 escort one, but the arm looks stubbier and not as long. also the plug at the end doesnt seem right for an escort one.

As far as I know it's only mk1s which have the green light.
But yeah, that's a mini stalk, I'd say mk2-3
Edit: it should have spades in the plug!

Ryannnnn's correct, only mark 1's have flashing bulbs in the end. I don't know about the plug on the wiring but that's mark 2 or mark 3 to about '74 (I think!).

Wipers on a Mini were always controlled off a switch on the dashboard. Just to clarify... Later ones were controlled via a second steering column stalk.

I seem to remember hearing/reading somewhere that austin and morris used different connectors (spade/bullet) respectively can't remember who used which, but I am pretty sure that it's from a mkII hope that helps (even if it's slightly)
