I came to the conclusion that big cars aren't me, I have much, MUCH more fun in a smaller car, so that's why this has to go!
I checked V8 of my list, now it's time for something else!
Model: Rover SD1 Vitesse
Year: 1984
Mileage: 147000 miles
Tax: Nope, cause it's on dutch plates!
MOT: No, but it has a dutch MoT valid for at least 6 months (dutch 'DVLA' copy outside NL MoT's, dunno about the UK though!)
Pics:
Location: Goirle, The Netherlands, but I can deliver at cost!
Price: £1500 ONO

I bought this last year from this very forum, because I wanted something English and a V8 was nice as well. Drove home fine and tried to get it registered overhere.
Failed it's test, so I fixed the list:
- new front/rear brake pipes
- new front braided brake lines (cause I stripped the rubber lines when undoing them), rear not yet fitted.
- new rear brake cillinders and shoes.
- refurbed rack (2000 mile old when I fitted it)
- new trackrod ends
- new rear half of exhaust (not OEM, custom system with 1 box deleted, still is nice and quiet)
When waiting on some parts, I also did the headgaskets, as there was quite a bit of mayo in both covers.
Heads where cleaned, skimmed and checked, new tin gaskets (correct ones) and replaced all the top end gaskets and seals as well.
In the same time the alternator and starter where refurbed so they are all as good as new!
Engine runs sweet, pulls very good and hasn't missed a beat since I did the headgaskets.
Just replaced the fuel pump, because the old one wasn't working anymore, I added a pre-filter, because of the bad name these have for stuff in the tank killing the pump. I didn't see anything coming out of the tank when I swapped the pumps, but just in case I added the filter.
Overall it's a good and honest car. The rear arches are very good, the front ones are a bit frilly around the edges, and just like any other SD1, all 4 doors are rotten. They are water tight, but the bottom is very rusty. If i'd keep it, I probably would've forked out for 4 new doors from Rimmer Bros.
Electrically almost everything works (no really!). The first setting on the heater doesn't work, but it works perfectly on full power and the left rear electric window doesn't work anymore, because I disabled it! It kept on jamming with the window down! I think it's the grease in the runners gone hard.
The boardcomputer still works, the speed and fuel sensor still give their info to it, so it tells you the average consumption/speed/distance travelled etc. etc.
On the pictures, the Vitesse front spoiler and spats are missing.
I have both in possesion, the spats are off because of some welding done on the passenger rear sill, took the other one off to inspect. The front spoiler is there, but the holes to fit it aren't!
Sometime in it's past, it's been ripped off and all the holes in the underbelly panel are gone.

and a little vid:
At the moment, there are LHD headlights fitted, if someone in the UK wants it, I can always swap the RHD lights back in and discount a bit on the price!
Delivery is possible, but that depends on when and if i'm coming over to the UK It'll do the distance without a problem, i'm sure of that!
