No front brakes, no front shocks. I'd drive it, but how would I get it through an MOT?

There's loads of reasons that it wouldn't get through a U.K. M.O.T. Exposed tyres, no front No. plate, Rear No. plate painted on, mounted in the wrong place and has no illumination, no windscreen wipers, no front indicators, no seat belts, and I'm not so sure about how safe it is to mount the fuel tank right by the engine.
I like it all the same...great show car.

I like it all the same...great show car. exposed tyres - not part of mot test rear plate painted on - unsure, but have seen scoots with original handpainted plates windscreen wipers - has opening screen - so doesn't need em don't know my bug ages, but pre a certain date you can get away with trafficators, so won't need front flashers - or daytime mot doesn't need em at all ^^same as seatbelts and fuel tank looks good to me - you'd be surprised how many mot loopholes you can slip through if you know where to look

Why are we fretting over a car that isn't in the UK not conforming to a UK MOT Test?
That's like worrying that a tree in France might fall over and hit my house in Surrey?

In The Netherlands a car that had passed the age of 50 no longer needs to be mot'd, So that might help.

is that true? It thought it was 30+ years old then you get a 2 years MOT and cars build before 1960 don't have to go through the MOT at all. I didn't know the no-MOT rule was a rolling date as well!

no idea why (probably the mead ;D ), but i quite like this volksrod although the lack of front brakes on any road going car would be a concern if it was anywhere near me on the road

I like that a lot.
Incidentally, hand painted 'plates on old motors are fine in the UK. My Land Rover had them, I had to touch them up with tipp- ex for the MOT...

Just checked that and i think youre right, i wrongly assumed it was rolling as well. Apologies for the confusion. but registred in 1960 might be build in 59 so it may still apply for that rule. (wouldn't want to drive a car without front brakes though)
