Hey everyone, I'm Tijs and I've been reading project threads on retrorides for 3 years now. I got my first car last weekend so now its time to start posting on here. ;D The car I picked up is a 1977 Toyota 1000 Estate (KP36) which is known as the Publica in some other parts of the world. It has a 2K engine (993 whopping cc's) and K40 gearbox. I got it of a mate who wanted it gone as it wasn't running so I got it very cheap I towed it to my moms house last saturday, charged the battery and started it for the first time on sunday. It fired almost right away but stalled once I gave it some throttle. Started it again, left it running idle for a few minutes and then it worked pretty well actually. I hope I can get the car sorted this year, and I hope you guys won't mind me dropping my questions on here. I need to check the engine (It think there might be a valve seal or spring that's bad) and the car needs a lot of little things done to get it road worthy again. Almost no rust (as far as I can tell, has had a respray few years ago) luckilly! Pictures! Retro bucketseats and a minicooper Astrali steeringwheel on Supra boss. And a video of it running

Nice ride! And nice to see someone from my own region joint the forum. I live in Geldrop, and have a lockup in Veldhoven (i share it with fredje8v, who lives in eindhoven) I owned a toyota carina ta40 a while back, (1979), even though all the bolts loosened up on it own, it was pretty bullet proof. Hope you get the toyota road worthy without to much of a hassle. (noticed we share a first name cool, even the spelling is the same! )

You used to be on there for a short while right? With a Kadett back then. I still do lots of RC drifting, on a pretty serious level now. I do the national championship and also the european and world championship I also got my car on Speedhunters multiple times, and on bosozokustyle.com If anyone else is interested in RC cars, check out my team website www.wreckitsideways.com

Still have the rc car, but i have no idea if it works. Used it for a good year, while i had no cash to work on my car(s) then chucked it in a corner. I still have the kadett, but the plans for it are a bit expensieve, so instead of saving up I'm currently spending money on my trabant, and a house... (in the meanwhile i used and abused about 5 cars) Nice to hear you still drift rc cars, great hobby! although I gues its more a life style for you didn't know you lived in eindhoven (or didn't notice it back then) should meet up some time, don't think i have any usable knowledge that would be of help with your toyota, apart from knowing how to work the spanners..... but i'm always willing to help out where i can. time for an update

Never seen an estate before. Those rear lights sort of make it look like one of those "production continued in other country by buying manufacturing rights" 90s update of a 70s car. Very cool.

Almost every other weekend I have an event or competition. I didn't live in Eindhoven back then, so that's why Does anyone know what type of bolts I need to fix my seatbelts? I bought a universal type Securon 3 point seatbelts set for it, and also a tachometer and voltmeter. I have time to work on the car next week so I hope everything arrives on time so I can build it all in.

I think that's a new one on me, couple of tons worth of potential in it though. Drop over some wide 13's and you're set.

I have my eyes set on a set of 13" Rial mesh wheels.. But I'm not sure I want to spend on wheels already.. Want to get the car on the road first.
Anyway, I'll ask again before the question gets lost in all the posts. Does anyone know what bolts I need to fix my 3 point Securor seatbelts?

Wow, cool little estate... You'll have to bring that up The Doctors (and Berendd's) barn in Bladel one day - would love to see it. Also... if you're looking for a adress to get them banded I know a guy that does loads, if I remember it correct for 20 euro each. its near the border brabant-limburg. so not to far away. Tell me more! That is very close to Düsseldorf and I have a cellar full of old steels...

tizer, not sure on the bolts, and i'm not real good with discribing the threads on them, but on all cars i've owned (and got the bolts loose) they where all the same.. i think i have some from a kadett c knocking around some where.. perhaps they will also fit this..
But the quickest way is to just go to the dealer... and buy some..
when i owned the carina prices for nuts and bolts (the carina had some strange stuff on it...) wheren't all that bad..
utterpiffle, i'll drop you a pm in a couple of hours, need to lookup his info.
