coloured tyres, comming to a wheel near you soon .

I'm suprised these haven't arrived sooner.

Plenty of concept cars are shown with crazy colored tires and its the in thing in the bmx/cycling world .. which means they'd probably sell big to the sceney vw types.

If they were good tyres and I could afford them, I'd probably get a set, and while I'm a VW owner, I'm far from being a sceney one

white tyres would be pretty cool.... but those colours are oh so tacky

I really don't like the idea of coloured tyres, but I guess for the right application it could certainly look different at the very least. I don't think I'll be rolling any on my cars in the foreseeable future.

Akku, you're right about Khumo producing the tyres, but they didn't have coloured bands...rather a special type of pigment within part of the tread. In every other respect, the tyres look standard black with standard tread. They looked like this when going some:

A friend of mine had some BF Goodrich tyres that had some blue bands running around the tread. The blue was moulded right the way through the tread so it was always visible. According to him they also did the tyres with red, green or yellow bands. Looked really cool but they were expensive and a little bit pointless (they came on a set of wheels he bought for his Delica) - I'll try and find some photos...

I have some tan colored tires on some powder coated white rims on my single speed commuter bike.



looks quite classy on a satin black frame with a tan saddle surely it'd all transfer quite nicely to the automotive world as well ?

I may have been confused about the band in the tread area with the BFGs. I am aware (although expressed it badly) that the band was not what makes the colour smoke but I thought they had them for identification purposes

That Lavendar tyre you posted Bruce, I think thats one of the scented ones from their aromatherapy range rather than a coloured smoke one.
