Thanks Rmad for modding the post so it has a pic!
My wifes folks have just bought a new house, 3 guesses as to whats been abandoned in the garage?! you guessed right. An old red ibiza. I'm hoping it will be included in the sale, as it would make a great project and ideal learner car for my wifes younger bro. D

That's really cool! I'm surprised they went for VR6 and not Fiat power. I had one of these to Learn to drive in and it was awesome! Had Porsche emblazoned across the rocker cover!

Had Porsche emblazoned across the rocker cover! you'd think they would be a popular choice for slinging a hot fiat engine into, seing as the floorpan is mostly old fiat anyway. Went to have a look at the one thats on the in-laws new land. Doesnt look like its moved in a long time. Under a lean-to, so its been slightly protected from the elements. Guess I will find out if its saveable around the end of january next year once the in-laws start renovation work on the house. Was looking on the how many left website and there are very few uk mk1 ibizas left. Less than 50, so has got to be worth trying to save it.

That is pretty epic, especially considering it went from this.... ... to this! Last time I saw one of these was a minty fresh white one at RR Meadowhall either early this year or late last year (I think) and didn't manage to get a decent pic of it.
