Not had the precious garage time yet but here's the ingredients for the update. Second hand chrome front mudguard, nicely aged, new top and bottom steering bearings and a new chrome wheel rim. The fan cowling is for the Lambretta, the other part is the front top shocker mount and adjusters for the front brake arm which I also had chromed.

1986 944 victim of the poll tax riots. A couple of other angles... And one of it on fire with the reg showing... Was just about to comment the same, did a Trans-am not get torched also?

This crew cab Hilux came in at the end of November for the full "R&R" treatment (Rustproofing and Raptor paint). The body had a fair bit of welding on it and some fabrication in the shape of a pair of bespoke rock sliders and a pick up bed side mounted spare wheel holder.

It's definitely slim pickings from "normal" manufacturers, even a bit further afield other than Germans you had the Renault Safrane and Peugeot 605 but I don't think they'd suit the look quite as well. Personally although a bit new I think a Citroen C6 would look banging but they have a whole list of horror stories regarding ownership. I'll just, you know, leave this here. Love these

I'm trying to think what an early 90's executive may have been driving or be driven around in, but I think it is probably mainly German. Surely this then 😂

In for the ride, lived in Retford for a year working at Bridon Ropes but don't hold that against me ! Having started out in Stoke, been brought up in Hertfordshire gone to Nottingham and Newcastle for a few years and now down to Somerset one thing I can say is that the variety in the UK is fantastic. I've gone more and more rural over the years and appreciate the slightly less stressful life this brings. James I always thought it funny Bridon had the Retford plant, when their main plant was (and still is) only 20 miles away in Doncaster. I assume it was part of a buyout of some other company at some time. I actually really like Retford, it’s a nice little town, my parents always used to favour it as the town to go to to do the weekly shop etc. so I used to spend quite a bit of time there, mostly in the massive bike shop that was an old mill or something, as I was well into bmx and mtb at the time. When I was a bit older we used to favour the pubs there too, as they were quieter and quite a few had pool tables. I find it much nicer than any of the surrounding towns, it’s just big enough to be able to get most things you need but still quite compact. Broken wheel by any chance? My nickname of Slacker comes from the Scooter Club I'm part of, Retford Slackers SC. All loonies from Retford, me being from Rotherham and now residing in Barnsley. I've only recently started seeing the local area as a thing of beauty and looking into its scarred past (mining era crossing over with my love of second wave anarcho punk and the scooter scene of the time aswell as the politics).

It is indeed, I'm gonna do an update on my scooter thread soon as I'm just about to embark on a similar project 😎 I assume it refers to the outer panels being stripped off? Yes mate being stripped down to a "skeleton" but there's a few variations on it. This style was prevalent in the early 70's (but added accessories like the bars/backrest etc) in the late 70s to early 80s it changed again still being called a skellie (or bonedown/strip down depending on where you came from) but without the accessories and even taking more off the frame work which progressed into the cutdown style.

Very british style "skelly" lambretta on the 'Weller' magazine stand. Is that a ‘thing’ then? It is indeed, I'm gonna do an update on my scooter thread soon as I'm just about to embark on a similar project 😎

Very nice, congrats on making a decent business for yourself while the world blows up. Thanks mate, appreciate that. It's getting there now, just need to knuckle down with a few things but I'm very proud of what I've got and what I do.
