Karma - are you listening ?? I've happily given Hunter parts away for free in the past rather than scrap bits that might keep various Hunters on the road in the future < insert Halo smiley> If anyone has any spare / free / cheap front-end Arrow parts, please let me know ASAP ! My choices are either to : scrap a (one of less than 10 remaining) Hunter Estate fix it up (Help - please !!! ) A very quick look before the recovery wagon turned up says damaged / missing / suspect parts include : Panels : NSF wing (annonying as the NOS steel wing was less than 5 years old), Bonnet (any Arrrow pls !), front slam panel/valance (maybe), front bumper. Mechanical (as a precaution) : Complete front suspension especially TCA + steering linkages (maybe also x-member, arb, rack/pinion, etc ?)

Summary : My Hunter needs significant repairs to the NSF, following a crash where the other driver had admitted liability I think my options are as below, if anyone has any advice / info pls let me know ASAP #1 I pay for all repairs (not practical, but it avoids the insurance implacations) #2 I claim from his (her?) insurers (a possibility - but they won't pay for my labour to repair the damage !! ) #3 I claim from my insurers (who will write it off - despite it being one of only 10 left on the road !) Heelp !

Somewhat overdue, it's time for a nupdate (photos updated Jan 2020) First more decking work. What started as a tired garden ( 50% old decking, 50% 3ft raised fishpond on right - with no fish) progressed : remove pond liner & water, use pond surround to fill the pond, to leave 50% decking, 50% raised (2ft) flowerbed. Allow to settle for 3 months while I was away. remove LOTS! of soil to lower the raised bed (see photo), fit new timber base over the whole area then cover it all with soft non-slip decking. Safe and very modern I also used some surplus flagstones to make a ledge / bench / BBQ area behind the new decking for extra brownie points The project manager & her neighbours are happy which is always good news. I also got volunteered to help tidy the conservatory - and for my trouble got given a crate of assorted booze that was surplus to requirements. I *love* this type of job ! For reference : the new decking has been raised 6" above the old deck, the old pond was level with the new shelf the plantpots are on

Testing the water - is anyone from Tyneside coming down to RRG (and could bring a small bag of Hunter bits down for me ?)

Hi, Would anyone be able to pick up a few small bits (brake servo etc) from Tyneside and get them to me at RRG or at BIrmingham? Size guide - I guess all the bits would fit in a carrier bag. Details (address etc) are still being confirmed, will update when I know more. Many thanks

This is a public service announcement for anyone thinking of travelling to RRG from "Up North". Avoid M62 & M6 (congestion, then roadworks from Stafford/Stoke to Birmingham, lanes closed) - yesterday I managed a trip average of 42mph over 200+ miles in a modern mile-muncher I'd advise A1 - M18 - M1 My return trip today was mainly cruising at a happy 65mph on clear roads in a proper Retro workhorse, with a couple of short stretches of 50mph roadworks Compared to previous years it's very noticable that the closed lanes & roadworks on the A1 have been completed and it's now 3 lanes for a lot more of the route Have fun, I'll see y'all at the campsite

Avoid Lancaster forum.retro-rides.org/thread/198484/lancaster-insuranceBookmarked - I spent a while looking for similar insurance (classic estate, business use, slight modifications), Lancaster were one of the few that I found who could insure it. See link above for a list of reasons I won't ever use them again

Hillmanjames - will be good to catch up Facilities on-site are basic but ok (portable toilets + 2 portable showers), etc. There's a town nearby, so either bring supplies with you or stock up on your way to the campsite. For info, mobile reception on the campsite is near nil but you can make calls if you make a short walk to the highest edge of the camping area. I prefer to arrive near noon on Friday so I can pick a spot for the tent, then wander around with beer(s) catching up with folk until daft o'clock on Saturday morning. Lazy start on Saturday then either tag along on a scavenge trip (local scrapyard etc) or into town. Return to campsite, beers - (optional : daft activities, diy suspension swaps, etc) - tat auction in the evening - more beers. Sunday move the car to the show field, leave early afternoon to head home. Advice : Work out how much beer you will drink over the weekend, and bring double (it saves having to make an unplanned shopping trip before the 2nd nite)
