Haha, well the smog pump supercharger really is a possability I'm trying to find somewhere to get a hollow megagphone, as i tried making one, but I'm not to good in the rollers just yet If i could find a stronger bttom end and an idea of how to do an exterior oil way (like mounting an oil cooler) i would definately go for a +2 cbx550 piston Thanks

Well the new main jets arrived today, and i put in the 110 straight away and it now runs absolutely great I also bought a 105, but i might send it back for a 112.5. With the new jet the bike has loads more power, starts alot easier and warms up alot quicker. What else shall i do to it?

I adjusted the needle after our diagnosis of the main jet, and no, i put the clip lower down, not at the top, as i was Richening the mixture.
Well i could always send back the carb, no marks on it, and i still have the rubber caps from the ends.

Oh, and its only the late models that came with an accelerator pump Also, looking at it, the new carb has the same size inlet and outlet, but a smaller slide Any upsides to this ??

Well i've just ordered a 105 and a 110 main My theory is that beause i moved the slide needle up, its nice and rich at low throttle, but of course when it comes to full throttle it wont make a difference. This (i think) is why i can take it up to speed at full throttle, but to get to full revs i have to lift off slightly to richen it? Ideas?

How much do you reckon i should take off the pipe? Perhaps you could draw a line on photoshop where it should be cut? That would be really great yeah, the valves are fine and the spark is great, it was just dirty points. I have also put in an iridium plug So maybe go for a 107.5 jet? Thanks

That was with the stadard filter. It really doesnt run well with the k&n one, because its just so lean with the standard jet in it.

Ok, I get you now. So I took it out again today, and on full throttle it would stop revving up really early, so I let off slightly and it revved up further , so 45mph is in 3rd not 5th So, the main jet is a 95, so considering the pipe and filter, which size would be a good choice? The following are available : 100 102.5 105 107.5 110 112.5 115 117.5 120

The other problem is, i don't know what the stock size jet is But on the site where i got the carb they have loads of jets, so if i find out the stock one i can order a few to play around with

Come to think of it, I havent actually. Ive just been setting the mixture with the mixture screw, but I thought because of the plug being the correct colour it was fine. Thinking about it, instead of adding the required petrol, that screw would just be taking away the air,

I'm taking it out again today, so i'll have a play with the points gap and see what happens I'll try it without the air filter too

The carb is the same as standard, and looking at the plug the mixture is good. Yesterday i had to replace the points, so i think that the gap is wrong, and its not advancing. The bikes got loads of pull, but it just wont rev

Yep its loud! I took it out on a private road today to set up the carb, and judging by the plug its spot on One slight prolem, top speed is 45 Yes, 45. Its got loads of torque but it just doesnt want to rev. I think it may be the timing, any ideas? Thanks

Cheers slater, i just might have to give him a ring The bike is all together and running now, its got a thinner base gasket and a thinner headgasket, so compressions pretty good now I'm not sure if i'll definately get the head done, because i want to keep it reliable . That exhaust i made works great, and doesnt sound to bad either Now ive just got to set up the carb properly . I'll get up some pictures when the DSLR is charged up
