That's nice. The only thing that looks off to me is the front wheels could do with being a bit narrower to fit the arch, I don't think the arch should be out any further than it is. The front lip and new sill profile is nice too. It all fits the proportions of the car nicely, when done it'd look almost factory I think. don't worry, wheels are for mock up only, proper wheels will not be sticking out like that on the front

Just a quick taster here, job is to build custom arches and front spoiler for this 1976 Celica Would be interested in any comments, also criticism, about the shape and sweep Wheels are 17". do you reckon they are the right diameter, front one would not go back any further, as they are off a BMW, but hopefully you can picture it Here is the car before and here it is now, just trying to agree the shape with part cardboard first Any comments welcome, but please keep them constructive v v v v v v v v v v v v

Whats the best way to beat an XR2 spare wheel bulge/bubble into a standard rear valance. I'll fancy giving it a try before shelling out for a panel, just need pointers to push me in the right direction Pic of bulge on car close up of a new (usually hard to find and expensive) panel I can always practice on a flat piece of steel and graft it into the rear valance (might be more sensible tbh lol BLU Probably the easiest way would be to take a bit of wood with and cut a hole in it the same size and shape as the bulge and then gently with a hammer dress the steel into the hole on the wood, this will create the bulge and create the shape that you need, the trick would be to ease it down a bit at a time, rather than trying to bash it into shape with one or 2 hefty blows

DMS some great fabrication with the speedo cowl
Too high a flow rate can have the same affect as too low a flow rate
When the flow is too low, you obviously don't get the correct shielding affect
When it is to high, the speed of the gas sucks in oxygen from the surrounding area

I hate doing that, but sometimes the maths just means you have to
At least you helped save another Volvo, and God knows what else from the banger circuit for another week

You don't need to remove paint that is sound, or that you are happy is sound underneath, normally I would just strip to bare metal any areas that you know need attention, then spot prime these and sand the existing paint smooth

Great work Tony - how did you form the folds for the door edge repair? Did you fold them on the bending brake and tap them over? Cheers John John I actually folded them on the box pan folder at work, as it will fold past 90 degrees, and then as you say tapped them over the rest of the way. But that Sealey one would allow you to do it also, albeit in shorter lengths
