1500quid id guess sounds a fair enough price imo i gave 800 for a tatty 2.8auto saloon with a test on it a couple of years back, estates seem to hold there value abit better and its a manual which is a bonus because autos (in my experience) are nothing but aggro.
interior and trim wise they're not the most durable, but there are still enough left around that are being broken, raced etc to get spares from for not alot.

As for the standard injection system they are replacing being easier to modify/tune, how many people have the knowledge and tools to remap a standard efi management?
reality is alot of newer engines (zetecs) need a programed ecu/megajolt setup if they're run on carbs to play around with the timing advance anyway.
claims of 30bhp on a smallish engine without any extra work seem optimistc at best to me!

had someone turn up for a car i was selling recently, and argued that it would need money spending for an mot,so he couldnt offer me what i was after, despite it having 6 months test on it.
same as with selling most things, someone whos interested will turn up when they say, will ask sensible questions and wont mess you around.

awful on fuel, at best, i towed with mine a few times, and it was on lpg, still couldnt afford to run the thing!
buy a fwd van, there are plenty out there at non stupid prices, itl do what you need, and wont cost you the earth in fuel (compared to a jeep anyway)
if you do decide on a cherokee, steering boxes arent great, i had a crankshaft oil leak on mine which only reared its head when driven underload or over a good distance, so if ur test driving one, do a few miles in it first.

i bought one in similar condition, but in white for 200quid of a scrap car lad a few months back, not had any interest in breaking bits of it on ebay so id say 150-200quid if you want to get rid of it, chuck it on ebay youl probabaly get 400, but itl take you listing it 3 times after the first 3 turn up and wont take it when it doesnt drive home and its got a spider living in the passenger mirror.

what an utter crock of shyte!
its like scrapheap challenge but without the good parts.
if it takes you 3 days to strip a milkfloat, and bodge a simmy v6 into it, you should be on gardeners world.
cool idea, badly executed.
