If I get what a couple of cars are worth when I sell. Should be around £15k up to maybe £20k if needed The Suburban has the advantage of a decent parts supply being based on popular trucks, especially if you don't mind custom/ modified things. I know a couple of people who switched from British classics to American cars because of the relative ease of finding parts. The peace of mind in knowing that the bits and bobs to keep your car/truck on the road are available off the shelf (even if that's a shelf 3000 miles away) would make a difference if I was in your shoes. That’s true, nearly everything is available, I watched wheeler dealers the other day and mike went to a car place about bought loads of brand new trim parts all in bags, yet here when I needed some trim for my mk2 escort, which is a popular car nobody here had and and I ended up getting some from Sweden, I may have identified another sleepless nights worth of 1960's metal. I like that but what is it worth? Guessing the 4 door ness of it hurts the value?

My e34 drove nice. The 518 and 520 are a bit underpowered. But the 520 is a 6 cylinder engine so sounds good,
Main issue is rust, the sills rot under the plastic covers.
The e32 rusts probably the same.
I’d go for an e34 or e32 over the others. There are a bit more retro and a good investment atm.

Dubious looking old duffer tells me this morning the air scoop on my Volvo 740 as ruined the car. I ask him politely what he knows about cars and he says nothing. I assume the good news was he actually noticed the retro car and commented because he went on to tell me how is modern car was so good. Now out of politeness i never commented because telling someone they drive a pile of horse poop would not better his original comment. Made me smile and we went our separate ways. Its funny how people these days seem to need to have the brand new car on the drive so the neighbours think there doing well while secretly there’re up the their eyeballs in debt, then find the need to tell someone there car is ruined, or whatever.

I’ve wanted an American pick up really for years, but various reasons means I haven’t got one yet, Talking to the other half a couple of days ago, she says just go and buy one, but then made the point that there are 3 of us now, and probably be a 4th in the next couple of years, so a two seater pick up will end in arguments, and we could never go anywhere as a family in it, so I’d just be driving it around on my own. Which I’d never really thought about as I just like pick ups. I’ve got too many cars that don’t get used and I’d be far better off having just 1-2 cars, so sell those to finance the yank. So what American cars from the around the 1960’s would be good as a family car? for road trips, weeks holidays to the sea side with bikes and all sorts stuffed into it. I just keep looking at Chevy and GMC suburbans now. Still got the truck front end. I like vans but wouldn’t really want one, estates like the vista cruiser look good too.

That looks great. Get some banded steel on it or something,

Kindig is one of the better car shows. The guys voice and beard are a bit annoying, but They don’t usually do stupid stuff or get into arguments so one person storms out, or let the freshly painted body fall off the trailer. Which makes it a good watch.

Never knew until about 3 days ago. That ford sold their trucks mainly in Canada badged as Mercury’s. Now that name sounds loads better than Ford, so my need of an American pick up is even greater. So many cars I want to buy but no room. One day though.

I follow him on Instagram, and saw that post not long after I posted on here. Least I know it’s doable, be a project for a few years time I imagine.

I’ve just been thinking,
I’ve got a b2500 and it’s in good shape mechanically etc.
I wondered what’s the chances of taking the body off and then fitting an American pick up body on to this chassis?
Keep hankering after an f100 but want it to be RHD, reliable and fair economical.

Last weekend wasn’t just the RRW. Oh no, for those of us that live where I live (i.e. me) it was also the annual Vintage Machinery Show and Tractor pull. These are in no particular order. F100 I need that f100. Some great photos.

I really want a mk5 cortina estate I would never think about one, or an estate but seeing what people do to cars that aren’t the best looking, most stylish makes me want one, the use it to take the family summer holidays down the sea side Next year or two hopefully have one. Although I have a desperate need that won’t go away for something American aswell, as I’ve had a few of the British fords

Can we have a better shot of it, with its new wheels?
Interior is looks smart. Ratty looking outside is good but need to have a comfy place to sit
Trucks looking good. Not helping my want of an American pick up that’s for sure.
