For sale I have this overland, camper rear body from my Volvo C303. Just purchased the truck and have no intention of using the rear body as I wish to fit a flat bed. The body Is metal and in good condition having been painted a few years ago. The previous owner stripped out the inside and began to insulate it for overland purposes. It has the factory electrics that would usually run from the drivers cab. It mounts to the chassis using four mounting points and a couple of U brackets, easy to lift with lift points on the roof. It has windows, a front hatch and some storage space under the box. The Camper body measures roughly 3.5M long and just over 2M wide. I can get more accurate measurements for anyone seriously interested. Perfect for anyone doing an overland or all terrain camper project. I have a local transport company that would be happy to deliver at cost to any potential buyers. SOLD Located Chippenham, Wiltshire

I always liked those; what are your plans with it? Really just some green laning, pay and play days and a few local shows a meets I expect. Nothing crazy just always fancied one. I will either have to down plate it or do my C1 licence as I am only 33 so no grand father rights. But it has been MOT'd here as a Class 4 Van and not a C1. Either way the rear cab will come off and will just put spare wheels and recovery kit on the back.

My mrs once made the mistake of telling me I could have any vehicle I wanted so long as it can fit on our driveway. two years ago you may remeber I had a 79 Unimog whihc turned out to be a little bit too agricultural. So after selling my Landcruiser recently and not doing many miles with a 4x4 I have found this gem in Lancashire.
1975 Volvo C303 TGB 1314 6x6
First registered in Sweden in 1977, this medical AT truck was imported to the IOM with one other C303 back on November 29th 2006 by a Peter Henry. The pair of trucks were then purchased by Fred Cheshire of Lancashire in 2013. This C303 had the IOM plate LMN-230-N. It currently sits on 13,500 KMS.
Powered by a Volvo B30 straight six petrol engine, driven by a 4 speed ZF gearbox with 2 speed transfer box, portal axles and three locking diffs. The truck runs a 24v battery system.
Although Tax and MOT exempt, it has had an MOT to register it in the UK and passed with no advisories on the 01/06/2022.
The sale of the vehicle included a number of spare parts such as 2 new hub seals, brake cylinders, brake shoes, two spare wheels and tyres as well as various filters.
Work carried out in the UK since 2013 includes:
• Bottom of door shuts cut out and rebuilt
• Bottom of windscreen cut out and rebuilt
• Rust treated on camper body
• Fuel tank repaired
• Chassis cleaned, no rust and oil treat along with cab
• Brakes refurbished with Land Rover 11” parts
• Propshaft checked and greased
• Diffs and gearbox oil checked
• engine serviced, new oil, filters plugs dizzy cap, electronic ignition Acuspark (12v) through a 24v to 12v reducer, carbs serviced

Progress to report The spot lamps have been mounted but we need lamp stays to make sure they are secure. The advert for the lamps says how bright they are.....then they turned up without bulbs hehe so ordered some of those as well. The new half radiator has been mounted along with black silicone hoses. Can't use the factory fan sadly so ordered a thinner Mishimoto one. Jamtech have isolated the air filter from the engine and fabricated an oil catch tank. Carpet as also started to go in for the road rally rules, fitted in a way that it is easily removable when we go stage rallying.

I always thought a removable steering wheel boss and hidden battery cut off switch are never a bad idea.

Finally, a proper update. I have entered the car into a local road rally on December 3rd called the Driveshaft. For about £70 with insurance cover, you get to drive the back lanes of Wiltshire at night for around 130 miles. I have previously competed on this event in an EP3 but we did a DNF. Being a works livery, I have been permitted to run the car in white/red but have to remove the branding. So that is going to save me a chunk of money. It also needs carpet, rear seats, some more interior trim and the big hydro lever removed or replaced with a horizontal lever. The car has gone off to Jamtech Motorsport for some work. As well as minor jobs to improve bits of the car, I have ordered Hella 3000 spots lamps to aid the JDM 80's candle headlights, Hardrace front upper camber arms to replace the same tired ones, hardened tie rod ends, Skunk2 half alloy radiator and silicone hoses. I am holding off on the oil cooler in the hope that the more efficient rad will be enough to cool the engine to reasonable temps. Then I need road rally legal tyres for the wheels now on it. We may get a little 12-car in to try the car before the driveshaft but only time will tell.

Still twiddling my thumbs waiting for UK reg and DVLA. First application was rejected As I put an extra digit on the VIN by mistake....doh!
With my plan being to do some historic type events with the works livery on I am trying to figure way of covering the livery with a wrap to make it one colour so I can also compete in night nav rallies. It needs to be one colour and have rear seats stuck in it to do so. Local company Wrapped automotive are going to attempt to cover the livery over with a wrap that can be removed again.
I will only be able to afford maybe three decent rally events per year so being able to use the car on nav rallies will mean I use it much more. To give you an example entry to Three Shires rally is £700 + Vat whereas a local 12-car rally on a Friday night is £29 with insurance cover.

No images but I did actually drag the car out yesterday to do some bits. I replaced the dizzy cap and rota arm. Took the sill protectors off to see what was hiding underneath. Nothing to drastic so sanded some slight rust bubbles back, primed and repainted the sills before refitting sill guards. Took my pricey wheels and tyres off a refitted the Sparco wheels for it to be stored on. Might get it out for a couple of local events before the salt hits the roads.
