As said earlier Galaxy (Mk1/Mk1p2), Sharan and Alhambra 7M chassis are all a product of the factory in Portugal hence the use of VW Diesel engines in the Ford. My wife's uncle was on the VAG development team for it. Apparently they took a Chrysler Voyager and supplanted VW running gear to see if it was a viable project.Ford put up a large amount of the funding hence the original Galaxy coming out first. I'd just go lowering springs if the shocks are good, firms the ride up without overdoing it. Those are the kind of stories you never hear, cool! My daily is another product of that AutoEuropa factory in Portugal - the VW Eos. I run FK springs in it with standard shocks (fk-shop.de), and think they’re great. For the 7M chassis they are seventy euros delivered. Very reasonable

Was yours a 1.9 B6? I initially thought they were all six speed. The rear bushes are a common issue, usually causes uneven wear on the rear tyres as a start. Regarding the EPB, I never use mine anymore. OP, check the passat forums such as ukpassats and on Facebook. Mine was a 2006 B6 1.9 TDI S 105BHP 5 speed. A two owner car. First owner owned it for 2 years, with my colleague owning it for another 4 after that. I had a few 'uncurable issues' A fan that never worked despite the motor being fine. Not even VCDS could say on that one? Nothing's too difficult to fix? I doubt that . I’m lucky that I have VW tech support on speed dial! (Mate in tech support in VW Ireland) and he can solve every problem that I can’t. He tells dealers how to fix cars that they deem unfixable. B6 is old tech now. Latest B8, different story!

Only mechanical difference to the 130 and 150 engines is the turbo, If you were creative far as know they are bolt on (GT17 rather than GT15). Maybe bigger injectors. They are able for big power. You’ll “enjoy” the ride on cheap coilovers Honda S2000 Air filter (ADH22236 from Blueprint) is the only way to go as you’ll ruin the MAF with an oiled cone, Paper cone sounds great. Decat and middle box gone and she will sound lovely. EGR blanking plate, clean manifold and valve and map it out. Done. If possible I'd find a 130. The galaxies are mostly 130, but I'm loathed to have another Ford. Assume cheapie coilovers are concrete hard? Not so concrete hard, but mega bouncy if you go low. At max height they are ok as 30% stiffer damping. The galaxy is a VW, was in a few and everything is parts bin VW apart from that bloody clock! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-04-SEAT-ALHAMBRA-1-9-STYLANCE-TDI-5D-129-BHP-DIESEL/222994001097?hash=item33eb7a6cc9%3Ag%3AIiIAAOSwdA5bOXKV&_sacat=9800&_nkw=seat+alhambra+1.9+tdi&_from=R40&rt=nc

India is probably the most beautiful country I have ever been to. The most friendly and hospitable and generally an amazing place. Would love to go back again in the next couple of years. Have to take a month to do anything half decent, so much to see and just immerse yourself in the place. And the polar opposites. Old town of Trivandrum to the hills of Munnar.

Good. God. Driven that road a few times, roads are narrow but that’s taking the mickey. Hopefully he won’t bother trying to retake his test after the two year ban.

Oh and the Alhambra is a good call. Relation has a taxi of one, 2004 115BHP one, and has over a half million on it. All things up graded with fail proof items. EGR deleted, solid clutch and flywheel conversion. Hasn’t ever broken down, and worked hard every day for ten years. I quite like them and the Sharan. My thinking is; 02-05 plate one, 115. Then EGR blank and black smoke map. Probably air filter and cat out. Cheap coilovers would be a plus... Get it firmer, so it didn't sag when loaded Only mechanical difference to the 130 and 150 engines is the turbo, If you were creative far as know they are bolt on (GT17 rather than GT15). These damn things are my bread and butter (both fortunately and unfortunately). Had probably twenty plus of them. I’ve had my B6 1.9 for 7 years, love it. Nothing is too complicated or hard or expensive to fix really. Any questions don’t be afraid to ask me.

Trying to put my ‘99 (last month of production) E36 Cabrio back on the road after a 3- year uninsureable hiatus.
It’s the 318i with the M43 engine.
Standard Bosch alternator. Not charging, voltage at alternator and battery both 12v battery voltage and drops until car cuts out. Had the alternation apart, cleaned brushes and commutator etc.
Still no go, sounds like voltage regulator fried? I know they have a transistor inside. Never had an alternator go bad on me before.

So mad you posted this - I discovered TrainsAndStuff's photostream on Flickr who collects slides and prints from Auctions and Estate clearances and was going about setting up a thread. It’s a VW, it’s bound to have some rot. They say about MK2s, if you have a rust-free one then you haven’t looked hard enough!

I tried to put MK2 rear coil overs in my MK1 Cabriolet, wound all the way down they were the height of 6N polo ones so 2-3” difference

I am of the way that I will only wash it myself mostly at home, or before a show at a jet wash. I used to work as a valeted and some of the products we used are so dangerous. We had a ten year old BMW come in which had had a 1K respray... You can see where this is going. Paint literally started to melt when the lads washed it, and no TFR used!

I have a thing for number plate surrounds, especially European ones. The more obscure the better.
Picked up a set on eBay.de recently brand new, Mühlenberg Ludwigshafen. Pride of place on my daily.
Anyone else like these?
