I was actually looking for 80s UK car stickers, as per the request in another thread. I stumbled upon these instead. A photo does capture a moment in time forever in a way that film cannot.

Wow love these pics! I wonder if the girls are giving away free cans of oil next to that Mk2 Escort?
The colour pic with the Telecom van is amazing.

72p per gallon!!!! 16p a litre!!!! I am from that era of Gallons and not Litres. I remember being very poor and having a whole £1 odd to put fuel into my MK1 Escort. Because I had parked like a knob I could not see the pump properly so I asked my girlfriend at the time to 'Shout out when it got to £1' I began to fill when she shouted 'STOP!!!! I thought I had put more fuel in than money I had on me. It turned out I had put 60 pence worth of leaded in the tank. The joke now is that 60 pence worth of juice actually moved the needle on the fuel gauge.........

Supurb, thanks for posting! Authough I grew up in the 80's/90's, I feel like I grew up in these pictures. I guess a weekly portion of classic car shows is partly to blame. That colour pic with the yellow telecom van is really quite magical.

72p per gallon!!!! 16p a litre!!!! I remember my dad saying that he growled like hell when it went up to 2/6 a gallon here in New Zealand. It's around NZ$10 a gallon now for 91 octane.

Great stuff! By rough calculation that Dutton-Forshaw Ital Estate would be around £15K in todays money.

This is my home town! The filling station is still there, but it's now run by ASDA.
