The new ruling is silly as in projector beams like the e39 has you can get a perfectly good beam image. It's the led bulbs that cast no image and don't project that are the problem. Even tho I'm a tester I will take my German plates off and probably swap bulbs out on test day. It's not worth it and dvsa spot checks are common. Not worth a bad for laziness on my behalf

I also fitted some 100w bulbs. Blue/white for the dipped and yellow for the main beams. The yellows are awesome but the dipped just seem dim. Think I'm going to look at hid kits. I'll try a headlight polish first and see if it makes much difference. Pretty sure HID kits won’t pass the new MOT rules... I might be wrong here tho... I'm a tester, so obviously I will remove the lights and stick the correct bulbs in when the time comes.

I'm hoping to set the clock to 24hr too. If the Internet is to be believed there are options on the software my friend has. I'm going to invest in some for when I get my lowering springs and need to adjust the rears

Wow that looks like a speed hump nightmare at the front, how do you cope? I can see some evidence but it looks almost impossible to avoid them. Cool looking thing though & the dawg is mint Because of the way the wheels stick out you can get it over at 45 degrees. It has caught the front but it's gonna happen as dad bought it to be used.

Insurance swapped. Bmw is home but relegated to the road until I have stripped and scrapped the audi Seems a shame as its been faultless for 8 years, but the cost of fixing all its faults isn't worth the extra money from sale. Tomorrow I'm fitting the cd changer and hopefully seeing a friend to deactivate the auto locking and the cold lighting checks, my leds are having a partyÂ

I know a good welder who needs some bits doing on his car so I may get brave and pull the covers off soon. I'm praying I don't end up needing sills.

Oh there is more rust. I'm just too scared to remove the covers and look at it properly yet. The vanos job isn't too bad. I had a broken lhd thread retaining bolt but that came out easily with a pick. I think you would struggle without an airgun to change the bearings tho

This was the before pic. The lights are badly cracked but that's something I can replace at a later date. It's just a light tint. Looks really dark in the next pic tho

Just finished the sticking the film on the rear inner lights. First attempt wasn't great but I got there in the end. Hopefully they won't develop bubbles over night. Hard to get good pics in this light so I'll get some in the sun tomorrow

This is a photo from when he had his calibra, can't remember if it was a turbo. Doesn't look like he has an Rs500 hidden in the garage either. Seems strange to keep a carlton out to the elements. It used to have a reg plate on it. It wasn't 40RA so it's not being hidden

How strange, to own a lovely 911SC like that and only use it once in every blue moon for a few hundred miles, then leave it sitting (on grass, too!) for yonks... I wonder what their daily is? Bloke near me has a Lotus Carlton, in a bad way. A mint Ur quattro, which is always clean and covered in winter, and a rusty mk1 golf. He has a lexus rx300 daily but it looks like he's given up driving that too. I wish I knew his story because he must be a top bloke to own cars like them. The carlton has been there and not moved for 20 years at least
