Corrado isn't abandoned, its a half caged vr6 receiving constant attention. Rover coupe is tidy and kept on a smart charger, never moves tho. Merc is a 190 1.8 Amg badges and kit. Camper has been parked for at least 5 years. I also have a mk2 transit I need to try get a good pic of. The Volvo Amazon in my previous post has been on the road for the last 20 years owned by the same old boy. I think now he has stopped driving now

Back on topic The tyres on my dads hot rod have 6mm of tread and are very expensive BfGoodrich's Did a quick tyre check before using her the other day and found a heavily perished section that had bulged. Could of easily been missed if just tread was checked. As an MOT tester myself I welcome this change. I see far too many cars with ancient and mishapen tyres

If only it was a redtop I'd of been knocking on doors If it were a Redtop, the engine would be in a Corsa, and the shell bean tins by now. A week later and the car has gone and the garage is now empty

Found a Calibra Se7 Ecotec on my walk tonight. Same owner since 2010, mot expired in 2013. Covered so maybe not completely rotten. Didn't seem to be vandalised either. Calibras have been growing on me lately, seem able to get fairly decent looking ones for not much money too...🤔 If only it was a redtop I'd of been knocking on doors

Brake cleaner is good for getting it off the floor at work. Worth a try

My own S-Type is nice and clean underneath, but my MoT guy has taken to putting "corrosion to inner and outer sills, sill covers fitted" as an advisory, which seems illogical to me...how can he see corrosion if there are sill covers fitted?? I saw an MOT test certificate recently (might have been one of the courtesy cars at work) that said something in the advisories along the lines of "chassis couldn't be checked due to engine undertray covers fitted" - which most modern cars have as standard! It just smacks of laziness/ignorance of the testers, to me... It's a two way street. I'm a tester and certain cars are prone for corrosion and swollen brake pipes under the covers. Mercedes are a prime example of brake pipes rotting and bursting all out of view. Sometimes it's laziness but sometimes it is to cover themselves. If that pipe bursts a week after I tested it, and someone gets hurt then I'll be in the firing line. Zafira and astra front subframes rot out because the undertray foam stores water and leaves the metal permanently wet.

sorry for the thread hack but how do you get this info?? I've been hunting for MWL673W for years, such in for would assist! There's also an old landy and a Mondeo I'd like to locate... Good luck to the OP on finding the motor, I assume the owners club has been no use? It's on the system I use at work. Pm reg's over to me and I can check for you

Doesn't give me engine code just 150.1bhp so I'm assuming redtop? There is one of these 4 doors down the road from me, been in back garden under a tarp for about the same amount of time. Safe to say they will be just a crusty parts car by now 😔

Cavalier spotted on a walk a couple of weekends ago. According to the MOT checker it hasn't been on the road for a number of years. It was on someone's (blooming big) driveway so is probably a "Project they'll get round to". GSi2000 4x4 2 previous owners. Latest owner since 1996 Past last mot with no advisories. That may have been back in 2006 tho 🤣
