or use 8mm copper but get compression fittings olives, crimp them to the pipe as normal, they provide the perfect upset to prevent the hose moving

how about making a sheet metal disc, to sit over the section of rim? easy to attach from the inside of the rim and easy to remove later if wanted?
sort of a variation on a trim ring

well, I know of a case of a car taken from a garage, actually put up for sale on ebay, the car was viewed the old bill informed and they did nothing until a 'panic ' phone call saying it was all kicking off and a shotgun was on the premises, they arrived in under five minutes!!!

right I assume this is the right area to post if not sorry my daughter has just got her first car a polo coupe, now she wants some wider steel wheels preferably capable of taking a hubcap. question is is there a standard VW wheel that I can get from a breakers etc that will fit straight on? and if so which model should I be looking for? the reason for the steelies is the stealth look, ie not in your face mods, also wants to lower it so anyone with any springs or knows where best to get them feel free to answer here or pm many thanks

It certainly won't be 4 x 108 , try 4 x 4 1/4 as all the fittings on An Avenger will be Imperial, best bet get a set of tiger spec springs lower it, it won't need more than a 5.5" rim, 6" at a push.
As its coil sprung all round and efectively four linked at the rear its will handle loads better than any Escort for the loads less money.

Have you looked at the front suspension on an Alfa 156? double wishbone with a strut . Wishbones are short and the system is really easy to make adjustments too.

So who built it? Johnsons? Bedwas? UVG or maybe it was built at Westbury?
A lot of the old vans end up in Northampton and usually get refurbed at least twice in their working lives.
