In a dilemma I have been offered an '87 Ford Orion Automatic, dry stored for 7yrs, parked in the garage when it failed needing 1 plate on the cill. Now is it worth buying to sell on and make a few ££? Not being a ford man, is there much demand for Orion's? What's a realistic value? If I don't have it the likelihood is that its going to be scrapped

T5 will be fine, just don't drive it like a race car if a bus full of tourists can make it round I'm sure your bus will be mint!

I went to the ring for the 6th time this year and never had any issues.
Just use some common sense, for your first time just take in the experience, enjoy the lap and forget timing it etc...it is not a race! Yes some people treat it as that but just leave them to it...
As for hiring a car, have a look at the excess figures and you'll soon change your mind!!

This is how she stands at the moment, The Jag exhaust £40 delivered off eBay so will mod this to fit, two really nice slim silencers and a balance pipe, Roughly in place and looking fairly straight forward to mod, My new fancy swirl pot with built in pump, So some progress finally, hoping it will moved along quite quickly over the next few weeks...

Progress has been slow (again!) But I got the final bits of paint done Thursday night It should now start progressing quickly as I'm back onto the mechanical side of things, Fit a new exhaust, got a twin pipe system with a balance pipe off a v8 jag, don't worry its still not going to be quiet!!! Revisiting the fueling side of things, concerned the mx5 pump just isn't man enough, so blown some cash on a external swirl pot with a built in efi pump from webcon. Need to fit a pan hard rod. Then get all the trim fitted (all being powder coated black) ....then mot!? Frosty I know your mg, seen it at Paul depper mg? I have actually spoke to Paul about it!!

Time for an update!! Paint was terrible, flaking off on various panels, rear bumper had to go, so in fill sections added below rear lights, budget satin black colour change, soft top fitted, bullet mirror and a general tidy and we have this, Will run like this for the summer, future plan is a full strip down/light resto next year.

Good progress! I miss my old e30. I have a set of those skirts in my garage including both end caps, they are off a 4 door e30 (genuine BMW) so assume they are the same. Where are you based? Pm me don't want a lot for them

I have always said I would get my dad a project and today I have in the form of a 1978 'Spridget'. Spec as follows, Fibreglass Sprite flip front Exhaust consists of straight pipe and an unknown Saab Back box (sounds mint!) Mgf Seats Banded Rostyles, only an inch, but has slightly flaired rear arches. Hard top A bit rough and ready but it has an all important 12 months ticket! Here's a slightly happy dad! Will get him to register and keep this thread updated.

Well a long over due update, hate to admit but progress has been slow to the point it has gone backwards.... The nice paint job above got destroyed by an incident with brake fluid (splashed over most panels!!) won't go into detail but was just sh#t luck that meant we had a week to repaint the car and mot it before my wedding, but poor paint match and under estimating the amount of damage brake fluid can do on relatively fresh paint meant it never happened. We both got to a point all our mojo had seriously gone out of the window, we both hated the thing so we shut the garage door on it (not literally!) for a few months until our mojo re-appeared...and it has!! So were back on it, it has undergone a massive amount of prep to repair the damage, gained bit of german steel in the rear quarter, found a spoiler I'm happy with and few other additions and idea's along the way... So here's a taster pic in prep for some hopefully big updates over the next few weeks, it will be done for the gathering this year...

Looking spot on mate, only thing I would do is put the minilites back on for winter as you don't want our wintery salty roads ruining all your hard work on those rims! Keep up the good work!
