About one month behind schedule. Ran for about half an hour to see if it held temperature and fluids. So far so good. <img src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/bbcode/video-preview.png" video="<iframe width="560" height="315" src=" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>" alt="Video Preview">

Not to be obvious, but why not just make up another set of wheels 1/2" narrower? Going to be easier than the panhard bar in my estimation.
Keep in mind that a panhard is actually going to move the axle sideways a bit as it does its job. So while the rear will move less than with leaf springs, it will need sideways room.
If you do go ahead with the panhard, take time to make the mounts on the body and the axle very strong; the loads are quite high and it will tear sheet metal out of the car.

Why we are not out celebrating this thing making loud noises Pinhole leak in the heater by-pass tube. Not sure what is wrong with me that I can sort out the marriage of two vehicles, and yet this stuff drives me around the bend!

I would take out the area shown. The sum total of welding is not anymore than the three individual spots would require and you will get a chance to paint the inside of the sill with POR or whatever your favourite rust killer might be. OR, just wire wheel the areas, bit of fiberglass and bog with some spray can paint and you are good to go for a bit longer. Answer all depends on what you want, need and can afford to do with talent, time and $$$$. Myself...I would strip it to a bare shell, put it up on a chassis rotisserie and restore every nut and bolt on the car. But I have a character flaw that way

Great read. I have had my 67 since I was in uni almost 40 years ago. Sadly mine has not been seeing the active life that your GT does.

While bemoaning the loss of Photobucket images on my Molvo thread, I accidentally refreshed the page and the pictures come back. I don't know if this will last or not, but it might be an opportunity for people to grab pictures that they might otherwise lose. First view: After screen refresh: Tried it with a few other build threads and it worked every time. I pulled all of my pictures off as I would have lost them otherwise since I cant log on to photobucket. Apologize since this post is not on topic for this forum, but maybe others need to salvage build threads.

Radiator and hoses done. The upper hose was kinda complicated but with an eventual solution that was quite easy and elegant. It's a stock Mustang upper that has been sectioned in the middle and now lines up like factory. Put some hose clamps on hoses to keep water inside, add fluids and we can light this candle. Waiting on some cool "heat shrink" clamps to go over the sectioned part of the upper hose.

Great weekend. Fishing on Saturday was great and made progress on the Molvo. 1-Throttle cable installed 2-Rad hoses found and fitted to radiator 3-Hybrid cable that allows Ford speedo cable to drive Miata speedometer was completed. Very elegant solution. 4-Oil filter location finalized and oil filter is now in place after having been filled with oil 5-Transmission partially filled with fluid ( PITA using LOKAR filler/dipstick tube) can fully fill until running. Was pretty proud of my throttle linkage: Then this happened when I told the Missus to go ahead and check it out. Ball end slipped right off the cable. Damn Chinese quality! should read "Made OF China" on the package.

The good news is that I drove over the border and picked up the new radiator; it fits in the hole and the inlet/outlets are the right size. Filler moves to the LH side, but that is inconsequential. The bad news is that with the bet lost, summer being here and good friends to spend time at the lake with, I am less driven to spend all my spare time in the shop. So excuse me if this moves along in drips and draps until September or so.

Knew from the first pic that you were going to buy it; it's your flavor of crazy sauce.
Have you done the math bit where it wont fit through the shop door?

Broke down and ordered a new radiator today. The one I have seems to have the inlet and outlet transposed. This made it impossible to source radiator hoses since not only do you need to get the convolution right, but one end had to be 1.5" and the other 1.75".
I think it is a manufacturing error, but since it was bought two years ago, not much chance of a refund.

I know its too late for this project, but a good way to power a bead roller is to steal the workings from the missus' treadmill. Extra points for pointing out two years after the fact, when she finds out, that she took that long to notice!

Regarding the steering shaft. I finally found a solution that did not require any welding of the steering shaft. While the vendor is less than kind to non-USA clients, they did solve the problem. www.woodwardsteering.com/ Two of their joints and a double-d shaft cut to lenght took care of this challenge.

Don't worry guys, it is far from being abandoned, and it will still move under it's own power sooner rather than later, but I am no longer pushing to get stuff done. An eye opener at this stage of the project has been the cost of miscellaneous stuff that is needed to awaken the beast. Fluids, belts, rad hoses, battery, battery cables, assorted specialty fasteners, cables and what-not add up in a big hurry

At least the pressure is off and you can hopefully get back to enjoying doing the work. Deadlines are a stupid idea anyway, things are done when they are done. Agree in principle;" this does not put food on the table. If it is not fun, we are doing something wrong". That said, I do manage projects as parto f what I do for a living, and if there is no deadline it never does get done. I like projects with enough scope to kill 5 calendar years @ 10 hours/week. I have been pushing way past the 10 hours/week over the last few months, so while the bet kept it fun, it was turning into a chore.

0 days left ;( So, rather than have to pay for her own wheels and tires, Mamma gets to go on a vacation paid out of MY fun account. The silver lining is that with no money in the Molvo account, I can take the summer off and go fishing with a clear conscience!
