HUNTED! This was my one way back to Essex from North Yorkshire in the mid 80's, it had just had a recon engine fitted, and a block of wood placed under the accelerator to prevent it from over revving etc..... i came down a Hill in the rain in the Harold Wood area (1986 I think?) A guy pulled across me, i braked, skidded and done this! I was given next to nothing insurance payout wise, but....years later, I 'may' be tempted by another? i remember (Clearly) The front passenger foot-well area was filled with bits of the bulkhead, the windscreen literally bowed round my head before springing forward and shattering! And i was lucky to escape with a small cut on the bridge of my nose, i was very lucky!

well done on noticing that! The last thing you need is the wheel going quicker than you and in the opposite direction!

Bank Holiday Monday! if not out on two wheels, where better to be? Yep! The garage! So, i removed the offending float bowl, and you could definitely see the scoring on the float needle, so this was changed, the remaining frame fitted back in place then the pipes re-fitted, oil topped up, key turned, and press start! plumes of smoke! not surprisingly though, the exhaust is still full of petrol smelling oil! so around the block a couple of times, and the smoke died down, all pipes were hot, still holding back in 1st and 2nd, but it needs to go back to the tuners again now all is settled, and hopefully, some trouble free riding!

It began earlier today, around 2.30, my brother in law had kindly started removing parts from the oily bandit, and it was decided, that today, we would at least get the engine out, and start swapping the parts from one 600 to the other 600........ the bike had other ideas! we were finally down to the last bolts before we could remove part of the frame in order to lift the lump out to one side, but being in the front and in an area that gets the full force of the mud rain dead badgers and spilt oil, it was inevitable that we were going to struggle! we spent over an hour trying to remove the bolts, and the nuts, but it wasn't looking good! 30 mins later and a trip to the local tool station/screw fix establishment, we removed the 'softened/rounded' nuts, then used hammers and a small child to use brute force in separating the chassis section! Tomorrow, the swapping over of parts and deep cleaning begins, before we shoe horn the annoying lump back to it's new home!

i have a few boxes and bags n' piles of old car parts, Buying a house so I will no longer have room for this stuff. There are various bits including switches, engine mounts, mk2 escort bits, a 1300cc crossflow block, cam and pistons, a gearbox from what I think is a zodiac or something Ford? RWD vauxhall gearbox, crossflow/pinto dizzys, Mk2 escort boot lid, flywheels, lights,Chrome trim parts etc etc.... it all needs to go, and there's money to be made, obviously viewing is recommended, no cherry picking, it all needs to go, i think there is a Mazda mx5 5 speed gearbox included, a Morris marina bonnet, lots of mk2 Escort side glass, and a couple of rear glass panes, possibly Front? interior parts, Parts are stored in the Wickford area in Essex. Just a small selection of parts
