hi all made an early start on the camper today. All the side panels for the seat / bed unit are now made and I just need to finesse the fit before I can fit them permanently. I should get the base panels made this afternoon all being well. Just waiting for the steel tube to arrive now so I can make the legs for the pull out section of the bed. Cheers - mike

Hi Norman
I didn't take it as a criticism at all. I had to have a few hours off earlier as its was over 34 degrees in my garage and just as hot in the camper. Will be starting another van next week.
Cheers - mike

Hi all have had a steady day today despite the heat. The kitchen area is now fully functional, the fresh and waste water are connected and all the electrics are complete. I have also cut out a step for the side door and just need the trim now to finish it off. I have started to make up the units for the sofa / bed. The end panel for the rear of the van is made and I hope to have the rest of the panels made tomorrow morning. I am now waiting on deliveries before I can finish so it will have to be side lined after tomorrow. Cheers - mike

Hope you don’t think I am being cheeky but is this going to marynliz. Great work as always, you make it look so easy. All the best, Norman Hi there yes, its going to marynliz. It always looks easy but everyday there are challenges. One major issue is that nothing in a van is straight, square or level. Cheers - mike

Hi all have had a busy day today. The split charge system has been re-wired and re-connected. The 240v system has been connected and tested. I have upgraded and connected up the lights on the 12v system. The kitchen worktop has now been finished and fitted for good so apart from a few screws to add this side of the camper is finished. The bed box and upholstery are next. I have an appointment tomorrow which will take up most the day so that's it until Thurs. Cheers - mike

hi all had a busy day today. Have re-run all the wiring for the lights as the leisure battery has now moved. I also carpet lined the area between the two trim panels as this will now show. The new flooring is down and all the passenger side units are now in. I have made the blank for the kitchen work top which took a while as the sink being fitted leaves almost no room for errors. Tomorrow should see the worktop laminated and fitted permanently and all the electrics connected. Cheers - mike

hi all have had a steady day building units today. Most of the panels for the kitchen are made and I have made a start on the doors. The will be three cabinets, a tall one at the rear which will house a microwave at the top, have a mid locker and a bottom locker.Next to that will be a unit to house the fresh and waste water containers plus other items and finally, overlapping the side door will be a unit to house the fridge with the leisure battery and electrics housed in the bottom. I hope to have all these units finished tomorrow. Cheers - mike

had an hour spare before tea so I cut the new Altro flooring. Its my favorite type of flooring and I highly recommend it. The only negative point is that its a curse word to cut due to all the non slip bits embedded in it and it can also be a pain to fit when its cold. First job tomorrow will be to get it down and then I can lay out the fridge etc to give me an idea on the units. Cheers - mike

Hi all, got an early start today so got the new ply floor trimmed and screwed down. Both the drivers side lining panels are now fitted. I went over to Grimsby to collect some furniture board and edging trim from my supplier. They were re-stocking the store and getting ready for a rush as soon as the next stage of the lock down is lifted. I should start building the kitchen unit tomorrow once I have made a final decision on the layout. Cheers - mike

Hi all got a bit of time on the camper this morning. Primed around the cut for the mains inlet and marked out the new ply floor with my template. The templates getting a bit tatty now so will need to make a new one soon. The mains inlet socket has been wired up and fitted to the van. I should get the ply floor cut and trial fitted later. I'm off over to Grimsby in her tomorrow to collect some more furniture board so should start building the units on Tuesday. Cheers - mike

Hi all got a bit more done today. Spent an age going over to Wickes on Leeds to pick up the ply for the floor. They have a click and collect system in place but its a joke with a huge queue of people all just expecting to go into the store and shop as usual when the signs clearly say store is closed apart from click and collect customers. I felt sorry for the staff on the doors constantly explaining to people and turning them away. Anyways, one change on the camper was to move the mains inlet from its hidden position on the inner sill to the drivers rear quarter panel so I set about removing the interior lining and insulation and cutting and fitting the new hookup socket.I will hopefully get this wired and fully installed tomorrow. Cheers - mike

Hi all
I have a Vauxhall Vivaro camper to re-vamp.
Its currently a standard conversion with a rock and roll bed with units on the drivers side. Its going to be similar to the one I built earlier this year with a side sofa that make into a double bed and units on the passenger side. The seat will have the option of being a standard side seat or and l shaped seat.
This afternoon I welded up the hole in the floor from the old table mount and cut the hole in the side of the van for the mains hookup.
I hope to get the new ply floor and Altro flooring fitted this weekend.
Cheers - mike

Love your builds Mike, I’d like a camper myself, but lack the funds. I did think about building one, problem then is that it develops into a major project, and I’d really like 4wd! Ever done something like that? Cheers & stay well Hi there I've built a few 4wd conversions. Mostly on Toyota previa's plus one on an Elgrand. Cheers - mike
