Listing this for a mate who really needs to clear some space at his unit, so he may once again be able to see the floor! He has a very old crypton engine diagnostic centre that requires a new home! As far as we can tell it does have some life in it, but we haven't been able to fully test it as neither of us know fully how it works and with no instructions that isn't about to change! Listing it on ebay as a 99p no reserve item, so it goes for whatever it goes for, which I am assuming will be not a lot! Located in north oxfordshire, not far from the M40, but will require a van or pick-up to transport! It won't fit in the back of your mk4 golf tdi!!! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172646375508?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

I drove up in my somewhat battered mx5 (every panel a different shade of slightly faded red) and they told me to park next to an uber shiney porsche 911, talk about rubbing salt into the wounds!

Wow melted the doors! That's some serious heat, i wouldn't even trust the chassis Not really, they're aluminium, so not that hard to burn and hence why the steel side impact bars are still present and just rusty rather than melted.

I'm selling them for a mate. I know he has another similar set. I will have to find out what the specs are on them.

have you checked the simple things first like making sure you don't have a vacuum leak letting un-metered air into the system? On my e36 318 is I had a hose broken which goes to the charcoal canister, that had a small effect on the engines running. My car took some hard revving before it would go through the emissions test. Just a thought before you start throwing money at expensive parts....

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vauxhall-firenza-hpf-droop-snoot-viva-magnum-avon-safety-alloy-wheels-4-pcd-/172634110560?hash=item2831cb7a60:g:1S4AAOSwSypY-GkxA clean set of avon safety wheels fitted with a very old set of dunlop tyres (the tyres were used for racing, so need changing really, they are included as a freebie) They came off of a Firenza HPF, but should also fit the Viva and Magnum, but please do check this! Wheel specs are: 13" dia x 6j 4" vauxhall PCD (early vauxhall stuff was 4" imperial rather than the later metric 100mm PCD) single piece alloy construction with wheel well safety bands If you look up "avon tyres nostalgia - safety wheel promo" on youtube, there is a video explaining how the safety wheel works. It is pretty simple really! Collection in person would be preferred, however it may be possible to get them put on a pallet if you want to arrange a courier. £250 collection from north oxfordshire

I have a thing about mis-matched / old tyres - tyres are very cheap compared to stuffing it or hitting some poor soul. Bad experiences in my old Scooby do on inherited budget tyres and bacon saved by eagle F1's on E36 328 touring kind of convinced me on this ! Hope this helps James This is an interesting point. I recently put my bmw 318is in for an mot which it passed, however the handling was frankly dubious at best. Something didn't feel right. The rear tyres were a matched pair, but the fronts (due to my mate not getting round to doing them) were still running a mixed pair of tyres with legal tread. One was a runflat with directional v tread and the other was a runflat with a different non v tread. The car would react in a very odd way on bumpy roads and changes in surfaces. The handling was so wrong I swapped the wheels for a pair borrowed from another friend, whilst I got my front pair changed and the problem went away. The car is now on 4 match tyres and a world better for it. All 3 of my cars are on matched tyres now

VHT vinyl dye is what you want, it'll cover over old colours/patterns. Used it to dye the trim on an old vw polo fox interior door cards which were originally a lairy striped design. I have also used it to dye the trim panels in our aircraft simulators at work. Very durable, doesn't rub or flake off, it really does dye the vinyl. The vinyl also retains its flexibility. www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=vht+vinyl+dye&tbm=shop

p.s how do you actually ride a push bike on snow ? Providing it isn't too deep, it's pretty easy as the tyre is narrow enough to cut through the snow. It's a bit like how old cars with skinny wheels work much better than moderns with their comparatively wide tyres. I've had a go once or twice on the rare occasion that we have enough snow to do so.

Why not just put good tyres on the panasports? 195/50r15s aren't exactly expensive. Speaking from experience, I have found little difference between tyres on my mx5 (bog std 1.6 115bhp) be it 14 or 15". Over the years I have run all sorts of combos on mine and for general driving, there isn't much between them. OK if you are doing track days, then you will probably notice differences a little more. I would suggest quality suspension and the suspension alignment is far more important. 5s are fussy about alignment and well aligned they handle pretty well even on hard old rubber. I found a huge improvement in handling, going from having and open diff to a torsen LSD and fresh non-sagging springs and dampers.

Not really into off-roading, so didn't find yesterdays episode that interesting, however I'm sure people into 4x4s would have liked it. Overall I think it has been a decent watch. The top gear extra bit has had some interesting bits too, I like seeing the behind the scenes stuff where they show how it was all done. I don't really get all the hate towards this series from some people. It has had something for everyone.
