the motor museum in Coventry is a good one and they have thrust SSC Seems a reasonable reason to visit . I rarely do anything other than drive through the Midlands though, on my way somewhere else. I'll put it on my mental list of places to check out. Technically its the Midlands, we can't be too far away from each other as I'm in Mansfield [insert rival town comment]

Never been to coventry then? The wheel factory was massive. I had to look it up on the map to even know where Coventry was 😂 It's an easy trip down south from where you are!

I love the colour scheme, it's like that Ford F150 camper from SEMA last year

Could be a good build for a retro drift kart? I'm afraid I'd want to see a few girders welded into that before putting an engine anywhere near it again. I totally agree, I don't want to be a pedant but I'd like a solid floor too!

£50.00 is the minimum starting bid not the price although it wouldn't surprise me if there were no bids as everything useful has been stripped off. With the front cut away, lots of welding and bootlid, rear wings & ancillaries reinstated and an A-frame fabricated it could be turned into a trailer. and the front end could be a car-BQ I'm confused as to why they cut the roof has been cut off but will be supplied with the minor? Could be a good build for a retro drift kart?

I've enjoyed the podcasts to date but this one made me laugh out loud quite a few times.
The last build idea where you take on each others builds made me think of strangers on a train! What a great idea!

Great job on the repairs, I think you're right to have a break away from things from time to time. Personally speaking I can get weighed down by everything that needs doing so walking away for a few hours at least clears the mind.

I'm just catching up on this, you're doing a great job of the repairs.
If it helps I had the same problem as you did with the welding gas. I think it's a right of passage for us car guys!

It should clamp it when you tighten the bolts putting preload on the springs. You should se the release fingers moving as you tight it. Thanks Jonsey, I laid it up and had a panic as I'm dangerously close to having the engine back in the car!

Thanks Pete. Cute cat Thank you black pop, weve had her since she was a kitten but she's never grown much bigger! Well done on the gearbox rebuild. I had mine rebuilt and it it still jumps out of 4th 😩. Thanks Jonsey, fingers crossed it's OK but I have the same concerns! I've been playing with homebred nickel plating which I've mentioned before - I managed to tidy up the bonnet release parts. It looks pretty good Its easy to do, I'm finding me feet with it but for a fun side project its turned out well. I'm working on the engine, the sump came off because I did a terrible job of fitting it and its had a dent in it so I figured id have a go at knocking it out! A bit of heat and some strategic bashing! It's gone much better than my previous attempts so I'm pleasantly surprised. I have an issue with the clutch- I bought this from Burton Power years ago when the engine was being reconditioned mainly for balancing the flywheel and pressure plate. The pressure plate fits the flywheel and is flush without the friction plate, the friction plate fits the input shaft and is the correct diameter for the pressure plate. Put this lot together and you get this Have I missed something? I don't remember needing spacers? Answers on a postcard! Hope you're all staying safe out there.
