I have 60mm pipe so I ordered a sleeve measuring 60.5 X 125mm
When it arrives the internal diameter is more like 56mm and the 60.5 seems to refer to the external diameter including the thickness of the metal and the clamps
The seller reckons it could be a manufacturing error but I'm not sure
I'm sending it back but what do I order?
Surely it should be simple?

I'm wanting to check these motors. I have a length of original wire with the plug but when I put it to a 12v battery all I get is sparks and smoke from the wire ends. I only get that from the two black wires, the green one does nothing. I don't know whether this means the motors are seized or I'm not testing them properly

Great stuff
If I hadn't gone with a pulley system I would have bought a winch like that
But I saw this video and knew what to do
I've ordered an old industrial triple pulley for the top and when it arrives I'll find a double pulley for the bottom

Yes it's hinged at the top
Thanks for your input. I'm thinking about a counter weight extended past the pivot point

I bought the reciprocating saw kit so didn't save anything
But after that I bought the angle grinder
I'm chained to DeWalt but their products seem pretty good to me

I have these steps which are hinged at one end and want to store them horizontally I could use a rope and a pulley to lift them but I would like to have a break in the system in case the rope slips etc I've been using a 1 ton block and tackle but it's SLOW A scale at one end says they weigh 15kg Are there setups for lifting this sort of weight?

These wheels were running around on an MOT'd car with no problem but I have just taken them off and noticed this dent in the rim Would this be an MOT failure? Is it actually dangerous?

I have bought a DeWalt DCF899P2 kit Is this wrench the same as the one I linked to (only with batteries and charger)?

It's just that green 'charged' light comes on and the fan goes off the charger so i assume it's stopped
In theory i could leave it connected overnight but i am using a generator to power the charger
The batteries do stay at around 13 as they're only a month old

Thanks, I chaarged them until the green light came on and they got to 13.1 volts
I have two of these batteries in parallel connected to 300 watts of solar panel. In full sunlight I've seen them reach 13.8 so on that I'm assuming it can't fully charge them
However, it only took 1h20m to charge each one from 12.6v to 13,1 so at least it can be used to boost them up

I have a 130ah leisure battery and I read that chargers should at least match the amperage of the battery. So a 50ah battery would need a 5amp charger With this in mind I found a 20amp charger for my battery Now it has arrived i'm concerned to check it's right This chart confirms my theory But this dial only goes up to 120ah Should I turn it to 120ah? Will this charger be right for my battery? (Sorry for the large pics)

My next van will be M1 not doubt
60 on a dual carriagway i could live with (probably) but 50 on a single carriagway is silly
Holding people up for 'no apparent reason' is not good
