I looked into this last year, quite a faff, but I was planning on driving the car back which complicated things. Sales have to be registered with a notary, in Italy, if the value is over something like €1000 as I recall. The seller will probably keep the reg plate as taxes and stuff are associated with it. I'd be wary of sending money for a car I hadn't seen to a seller i don;t know and relying on a shipping company to deliver it. But I'm a big girl's blouse, maybe you're not. Why not rent a little flatbed and collect yourself, have a little holiday out of it (and see the car first hand), plus paying cash in Italy, face to face, is more like to get the rules bent in your favour. Some stuff on this thread; www.expatforum.com/expats/italy-expat-forum-expats-living-italy/56486-advice-needed-buying-car-italy-taking-back-uk.htmlLet us know how you get on, good luck

Nice blog. I was commentating for a short while at PPC in the Park in 2013 and recall taking the curse word out of that Corsa shown broken down in the background of your shot! I now have the horn for an old Merc, thanks fha772 , I've not yet had a look, but tell me why have you started blogging? I've considered it myself, but what would I write about, and who would read it? What are the benefits over say having a thread on here? Lastly, does it cost much, and is it easy to do? Why blog? I blog. I use wordpress and it's a doddle and costs peanuts. I started writing simply because I enjoy it and found I am better at writing than driving. Which isn't saying much. Anyway, a magazine got in touch and asked to publish a thing I'd written. Then another, and another and then I did some YouTubery and wrote a couple of books and even a little bit of telly. And I got paid for it. And now and then I get sent a shiny new car for a bit and, occasionally, some money. I do it because I love talking twaddle about cars.

Do you have the original wheels? What happened to the rear seats, they look diseased! GLWS, and all that

Yep, that Jag just looks rough as guts. You'd have to wonder what else is dodgy on it. I want to like it, I really do, but it's too rough to be cool IMO. Why not sort those blister arches out properly, for starters?

Thanks for the kind comments! I genuinely appreciate it.
For my next trick I am going to blow up a MK4 Golf. Film to follow in a few months.

Another satisfied customer here Rich, went in on the kickstarter for the first one but couldn't get back into kickstarter when they emailed me about the sequel. Saw this post and immediately went to Amazon for the it. Prime had it to me and I proceeded to devour it in 2 sittings, and had to ration myself to make it last that long! Inspiring/inspired have now lent it to my potential adventure buddy to see if it inspires him too. (Google maps/Ryanair/rental searches done and saved in anticipation) Great, glad you enjoyed it. I'm happy to help with planning if you need any pointers or tips. I'm sooo chuffed that both books are being so well received. Thank you!

I know. I took the pics It's not actually his collection, he now has a modern place (per your link) but was previously located in a load of old greenhouses outside Rotterdam. He had a little workshop and showroom (mainly for motorbikes) but the greenhouses round the back were stuffed with all sorts of exotica, slowly rotting... I haven't been to his new place. My pics and words on his greenhouses were published in a few magazines some time ago.

Payday tomorrow, I shall procure a copy. I hope you enjoy it! Feedback most welcome. This morning I was up Passo San Marco in a broken Aygo. Now I am sat in the office back in blighty, watching the rain and planning my next thingy. I am addicted to automotive adventures...

Travelling stories would be a great addition for me, there's been some epic road trips on here over the years. Some of us have written books about it!

Now stop wasting time browsing here and start writing your next book! (please? ) I'm on it! Next book may not happen until next year as it's a huge thing I'm about to attempt. And a smidgen illegal. Off to Italy next week, standard formula; Fiat 500, the Alps and some forgotten hairpins.

Thank you for the kind words! The book is selling surprisingly well, I am really chuffed that people are enjoying it. The sequel is a bit different but no less amusing (so I'm told). Links in my signature. Cheers!

I had great fun making this. ... Obviously! Thanks a lot for sharing this. Next time ask for that bmw bike boxer engined 2cv from around here - should be even more fun - but reconsider the 'elmet! Who, what where? I'd love to know more about that one! Got a link?
