There were always manual choke conversion kits in car accessory shops in the 80s. So times I was waken up as a kid with cars turning over and over.

I found a load of dusty Springfield records on a shelf in my garage. I sold them on ebay. Now I just don't know what to do with my shelf. 😊

My dad had a cortina and used to pump the throttle a dozen times before starting. One day the back box exploded. Must have been full of vapour. I think it's the carb, seeif you can get a cheap spare to try.

I think if you take the flywheel off its will reveal itself. I haven't done one on them but have on other engines and it just hooked out and the new one tapped in. Best to check the Haynes or pop a question in the technical bit on here and one of the chaps that knows more than me will no doubt help.

The oil may be from the rear crank oil seal. It's behind the flywheel usually. You will never be nearer to fixing it than you are now. Might be worth popping the flywheel off.

You can get everything for both cars. I like the moggy engine accessibility at the front but, if you see a moggy on the road folk say look at that old car, if they see a beetle they say wow cool. So it's a different scene if that matters. Throw a saab 96 in too so you have another option. I might sell my moggy now its done as need something to distract me and chill me out after work.

Ahh not bad, it was Motorola. Turns out two guys were entertaining two ladies in an open top car back in the 20s and one of them said it would be nice to have some music. They got another guy on board and eventually Motorola was born although the radios cost as much as the car. One of the guys went on to start Lear jets 😊

You can tell you are enjoying the work and it shows that repair is just superb. My moggy still has identity issues and thinks its a Daimler. We are scared to mention its a morris within earshot. Have a look at its speaker wrapped in red leather!!

What about it being OK in the 80s to paint your cortina and cavalier in black upto the trim line on the doors to cover the rust? Especially the after the mk2 cavalier Sri left the factory like that 😉 usually done on a Sunday when app kaa hak was on telly ha ha

The drone over 40 mph has now gone after changing the wheel bearing. Here is the culprit.
