Thanks to this thing taking over my life for the past few weeks, progress has been a little stunted. However, I have put the hours away from home to good use tracking down some cheap bits for the project. First up is a pair of fibreglass front wings and a front panel. Not going to end up a show car with these bits, but for £150 all in it will tidy things up and save a bit of weight and a lot of time over repairing the rusty current bits. Next up is a set of coilovers. Think the rears are MX5 ones tweaked, and the front Dolly ones. Either way they came from a slammed dolly that was getting an upgrade, so are an easy way to some stance. £200 all in, isn't as cheap as i could have done it, but is more than worth it for the hours saved. They give this stance, that'll work! Thankfully work should calm down a but now, so should be getting back down the unit a couple of times a week so things will hopefully start to move forward again. Total so far = £1680 this sounds pricy to me! Better see what more I can sell...

linkThese are the guys - like I say, not cheap but always done a great job for me (full bottom end balancing, block machining, liner repair of a knackered bore etc.) and in the timescale agreed (seems to be a rare thing for machine shops!). Plus it's a great old world shop hidden among the terrace streets, just visiting is a bit of treat to be honest.

Where you based? I've a great shop in Coventry that'll do whatever job you want - sadly not cheap but they do an exceptional job.

Mike Brewers DB4 Zagato replica probably falls into the cafe racer category. Currently on the Bay of E for £95 large... Go on, hold out ya hand. I might not enjoy watching the owner's shows, but I love that, massive want

As the title says MK 1&2 Cortina spares. Stored in a garage for the 20 years. This includes doors, engines, suspension, axles and lots more along with a 2000E series 1 1600E g/box. Opening it up the garage this weeks. Let me know what you need. What have you got rear axle and front leg/strut wise?

Loved the car dude, never seemed to track you down for a chat though. I wanted to know more about the engine ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Like everything I was keeping an eye out for you as we always cross paths at RRG! But it did seem to be a particularly busy one. Next year! And what do you want to know? I'm now an expert in how not to gap piston rings, that's for sure!

Be interested to see how the dyno curve changes with the triple carbs, will check back for updates ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) (using kent v6t46 in my 2.9i) How do you find the v6t46 grind? Is it as peaky as I expect?

Absolutely mega! Just read the thread start to finish. Awesome bit of kit. Would love to get my Maverick to the same state and getting to some hillclimb events. Even looks like a yank Capri a little! Do you still have those ultralites when you first got the car? I'm thinking wheels like that for mine eventually. Cheers, sadly sold the wheels years back whilst funding the rear end. Would love to see a Maverick hillclimbing! Much underrated in my eyes.

Looks great & congrats on the dyno result and the RRG performance, i often check in on this thread for some capri-related inspiration! Love it What cam grind are you using?
Thanks, and it's on a Kent V6T3 currently, so 290deg duration - actually very driveable. When I finally get the triple carb setup done I might look at moving to a T4, but might be a bit peaky for hillclimbs, especially when wet.

Another year another RRG, and what a great one it was - thanks as always to everyone for such an amazing show. Better still the Capri actually worked well and I had a smile on my face all day. Thanks to everyone who popped over for a chat, was great to catch up with people. Happy to see the front end is still confusing people as well ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) What's this then? MkI Capri? Note to self.... stop taking photos of cars unless you know what you're looking at Ta ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png) EDIT to add pic ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) what by Nick Liassides, on Flickr Best of all, I got to come home with this - Means a huge amount to me to get an award from my favourite show and the forum that has accompanied me and my daft car modding for the last 13 years - the car wouldn't exist without this place. Thank you all the judges, and everyone who's given me some positivity etc. over the years ;D

Looks like a nice old (battered) bus and cheap as chips for what it is with a full year's ticket. Looking through your MOT history the recorded mileage is bonkers, it has been doing very very low mileage some years, quite high mileage others however 2010-2011 seems totally anomalous as it looks, (as an 18 year old bus then), to have clocked up 65K in one year??!! Is that remotely likely? Any chance the clock was swapped and the mileage isn't as high as that? May well have had a new set of clocks as definitely feels more 150k than 200k!

My load lugging workhorse is for sale as I just have a few to many cars filling the road up! MOT 6th August 2020 (nearly a year!) Runs and drives pretty well, but has been used as a workhorse for a couple of years - body has scrapes and a dent on the rear right quarter. LH door strips missing (now gaffer tape..) Interior tired as well, hole in carpet etc. but hey it's cheap! Could do with front brakes (discs a bit warped) and couple of bushes getting tired. Front tyres will also need doing in next 1000-2000 miles. However, it's a very reliable old bus - this is the second time I've owned it. First bought it a couple of years ago and drove it to and from Stockholm! Didn't miss a beat. Sold it to a builder, then bought it back when he was done with it and sorted out a few issues and got it back through an MOT. When had it a couple of years back I put a new clutch and cambelt on for piece of mind (Stockholm and back is a long way for an old car in a couple of weeks). Also did all fluids etc. In last couple of months has had a new rear exhaust section, a basic service and plugs and seems to be running pretty well - sure it'll get you wherever you need to go. It's great for taking stuff to the tip etc. Capacity of a van, but no charges! Also has a towbar on it and comes with roof rack, so proper workhorse. Nice retro winter hack with it's heated seats? Will be at the Gathering this weekend as a tow truck, give us a shout if you want a look.
