Run them in my old Mk2 Escort and in the Mk1 Capri. Nothing much to report other than they work really well.
It's really important to make sure you have the right bore master cylinders for the front/rear systems you have, to make sure the basic balance is in the right ball park - off the top of my head 0.625" up front, and about 0.7" for the rear circuit is what I have on the Capri. I think the Ford setups tend to come as standard with 0.625 front, and 0.75 rear. Size will be cast into the side of the cylinder.
In terms of putting them together, just make sure you have the balance bar built so you can get a full range of adjustment - nothing worse than having to take it all out again because one circuit hits it's limit way before the other!

As for updates, I'm afraid it's one of those situations of life getting in the way right now. Yesterday was particularly busy and was spent filming a real life Triceratops. (25% of that last statement may not be true) and today was a 5.30 alarm because I'm about to drive to Cosworth to collect a brand new car with one of their engines, then spend the rest of the day driving it and photographing it at a race track. It can be a tough life! I can assure you that updates will be forthcoming very soon, and at a more regular and consistent rate now that the 3 weeks with a film crew and a dinosaur has finished. Your life sounds so mundane, how do you cope?! Now trying to think what's new and has a Cosworth fitted. Still waiting for that update you know

Nice find I don't normally like that many VW's, but this thing just works so well. Plus there's something about the photo that seems quite modern, guess it's very sharp with quite washed out colours. Also like this little Fiat, looks much meaner and wider, just for being lowered and smoothed, very nice and finally, this Volvo, because it just looks mad!

100% white if your going for resale. They look great in white with the original 80's graphics (think RS1600i's/3 door cosworth's), so retro. Plus if someone want s to make a gp2 replica what better place to start than a white shell. Now that is a good point, hmm I could cope with white, and does open up plenty of graphic options. So much to think about. Thanks for all your input so far guys.

I've got th be honest here and thought it might be worth mentioning, sorry if it's already been covered. Personally when I buy cars there are certain things I must have, when I bought my first car it had to be black, had to be! So I can understand your question here, what is most desirable to us as a buyer. However. I have to say that if when I was looking for a black car, that was at some point in its life silver, I would avoid it like the plague. When we are talking classics like this, and an appreciating Classic at that (which I can only imagine the Capri is, I don't follow them closely enough to say for sure) I would much rather the car was its original colour and that would be a monumental selling point for me. Some of those colours you've posted look cracking, and the car would wear them well, but I wouldn't go out specifically looking for a XYZ Green or ABC Yellow, top drawer car is priority, colour I am sure I could learn to live with. My personal vote is for the original colour. Completely understand your point and it's a very good one. But in the end I'm not going for top money, the car simply needs too much rework needing doing to old repairs to warrant putting the additional time to make the extra money, in my eyes anyway. Plus for reasons of my own sanity, parts cost and time I'm going to be switching to a carb rather than the very very worn out and partially seized injection system. These things mean it won't be able to command top market prices (investment...), but it'll still sell well to someone wanting a good, solid car to use and enjoy - that's also the kind of car I prefer to build. Might as well become a modern artist if I wanted to build something to be admired using one sense rather than them all (yeh you can taste unburnt fuel ) For the buyer wanting to drive/enjoy the car I think a Capri that looks more fun or cool will sell better? But could well be wrong, wouldn't be the first time! Plus it turns out it was a two tone graphite over silver originally and well I'm not spending that amount of time building something I don't even like, less money or not

What was the cars original colour? sorry couldn't see it Is that this one? Certainly made good money at £23,625! As for the original colour, I think crystall blue but given how many odd panels it now has it doesn't look much any more! Don't seem to have many photos, mostly because it looks such a shed - have one from the drive home with it

salmon pink with a black bonnet mk2 rs 200 colour I feel I should hate that, and yet I don't, in fact I rather like it. Definitely left field - nice idea

stevek - that colour chart is a nice find, cheers Java green looks pretty good, not sure I've ever seen that on a Capri but it could work well - got a green vinyl interior that'd look great with it, in a very avocado bathroom suite sort of way!

Ludicrous question.... What colour would I pay the most for? ?? Non I buy cars as a package and colour is not a priority.... So you cant be arsed to either do the research or even think about it yourself....... And all so you can get a cheep kitchen??? What a neck some people seriously........... And people wonder why a lot of folks don't bother coming up with thread ideas. I think you might have missed the point of this being a bit of fun and maybe a way of getting a few photos of ideas out there? Apologies if that wasn't clear enough. As for doing some research, surely asking the opinion of a section of the likely market place is exactly the sort of market research that would make sense? Not that I'm going to definitely paint it the wining colour, because this is just a bit of fun. Now if you don't like it, why not comment on something you do like? There's enough negative/awful stuff going on today for us not to need more pointlessly adding. Mods, if I have indeed got things wrong, and I'm the one missing the point, please feel free to lock the thread.

Oh and my current option 2 is something I keep walking past at work and just love (except for the red carbon....) Thinking solid grey with some primary colour detailing or something might work really nicely - thoughts?

So as one or two of you might know me and Lauren are actually a 3 Capri family. This is rather silly in many ways, though at least they're all different (being Mk1, 2 and 3 models), but it's 'logical' because the Mk3 was only ever bought to finish off and move on to a home that has the time to enjoy it properly. It's a very unfinished project, a Mk3 2.8i - rough but not bad (for and old Ford....). It's been laid up for years, and it's about time it was back on the road. Might get a photo at some point, it's basically a rolling shell so not a lot to see. Welding has started though. But this isn't a build thread, oh no, this is a what colour should I paint it poll. Basically it's going to need a fresh coat of paint and since the money from the sale will be used to pay for a kitchen, maximising of sale price would be quite useful. (yes I'm lucky enough to have a wife who understands and agrees with the man maths that project cars are better than bank loans, in fact she bought this thing not me! - someone once said to me that blessings and curses can be quite similar sometimes ). This really is a bit of fun, a musings thread if you like. Pointless, maybe, but when has that ever stopped us. Though if someone come up with a really cool, simple look, there's a good chance we'll actually make it a reality So the basic question is What colour would you pay the most for? You get 3 votes each. Rules are simple, - It must be a solid colour (can't be bothered with lacquering)
- No 2 tone (I never liked 2 tone on a Capri)
- It must have been available on a Mk3 Capri (it's a 1983, but the 70's colours are a bit more fun)
Addition of stipes etc. is allowed, but you need image based proof if I'm going to believe you The colours I know of are in the poll, examples below. Since we all love photos, I'm all for people posting cool cars within the above rule set so get posting Currently something like this Signal Orange one is winning in my mind Now get voting (and making comments on how I'm an idiot, that I should have the Mk1 finished by now, and who needs a nice kitchen anyway.... )

Just noticed the new rims, they're awesome! If you ever come to sell them can I have first dibs please? - I have an addiction to collecting 6x13 4x108 rims I can find at the moment! Whats the new engine then?
