multiplying the focal length thing seems a bit pointless to me, unless your constantly comparing with a full frame camera and aiming at a particular length all the time. just use what ever works/
in my experience the cheapest old rubbish can do the job just as much as a pricey camera. another reason to ignore numbers (these sort of numbers £££), its an unfortunate pit a lot of people fall in to or get put off by.
light is the only real thing you need to worry about when taking photos - as that really can make or break a photo coming out or not.

i always put stuff up top dollar, as you say if its cheap people think its curse word.
i put my crx up for £2200 in 2007 as it was full of mot and no rot. it sold pretty quick. the bloke that bought it was one of those guys who thought he knew it all (but was apparentt he didnt) and based it on being the most expensive one he could find locally, therefore it must have been good...
i put it up at £2200 to see what would happen and keeping in mind haggling.
i have subsequently done that with ebay buy nows and it works the same.
BUT its only really with odd things where there are not many available. i doubt you could do that with a ford focus just because there will always be another around the corner. you might find that with a GTI as they're kinda common.
just play off its strengths at the end of the day and be plainly honest with any issues it has, helps people be at least a little more confident in you as the seller. last thing you want is people coming back to you complaining of issues you never mentioned.

should be ok, get a pic up to let people see whats what.
if it is just a crack and its all clean and accessible i would see no reason why not.
only thing that would concern me might be why it cracked in the first place and the same thing happening again.

as everyone else has said - get the 2ltr gt. not a bad car - few of my mates had them, seemed pretty bullet proof. i wouldnt be put off one with say, 150k+ miles, so long as it wasnt rusting out

i have had a convertible, also in red, bought it with a mate in 2004, rode around in it for the summer and sold on after a month or so after having given it some love and made a nice little profit.
became a bit of a legend to us, 'the celica of Kalala' (we bought it off a chinese guy from the Kalala restaurant in Folkestone), we were young, it was awesome. subsequently my mate bought a gt4 version of the gen 4 off the back of it. 10 years later he still has it, but its not been on the road much in that time. he comes on here some times, he might see this and tell the story. if so - speak up Chappers!
anyway, they're probably almost all as rough as hell now, ours was on the way out in places but still very presentable. apparently there are very few gt4 versions left, something like 5 in the country, i believe 250 of the convertibles were made - and they're the ones i see around most. hardly ever notice a hard top version.

i wanted one of these real bad about a year ago - put motorbike engine in of some kind and run on the road, that would be so sick.
if i had garage, funds, ability etc i would be all over it.

blow that trumpet man, one of the sickest cars on here by far.
and doing what you have to a kooky old lotus is a daunting task (in my eyes anyway). enjoy that thing - its so god damn righteous!

i can do you a conversion if youre anywhere near brighton.
i personally havnt had any issues with chainlines but then my approach is different to the one above.
i tend to use the original wheels rather than use new ones or cassette freewheel hubs.
with older wheels you just need to get the cassette off - screw on a bmx freewheel, essentially flip the axe spacers over to the other side and re-dish the wheel. take off all the gear parts and other useless curse word too.
alternatively if you just want to try it out, take the derailleur off and cut the chain down. then you can experiment with gear ratios and it wont cost any thing. shouldnt take longer than 20mins either

This is a Rotrax i have just finished, has much patina yo! it was very high end back in its day, 531 tubing, built up with Campagnolo parts, Mafac brakes and Stronglight TA cranks. Managed to keep it as original as possible, just new spokes, chain, singlespeed freewheel and other consumables. Also up for sale if anyone is interested £250

nice one, i do a lot of single speed conversions too.
often wounder why they even bothered with gears on bikes like this. single speed makes so much sense

just remembered it had a split second of decent acceleration in 2nd gear but it literally was for the length of a sneeze or a cough, then you change gear.

i had one and found it pretty boring, i barely remember owning it. its not like me to forget such a thing. was best car for mpg ive ever had though.
my mates bird had one, spent £4k or something silly on modifying the engine only to take it on a rolling road to find it gained only 5bhp.
i wouldnt waste my time modifying one, just run it as a cheap barge
