I don't know if this has been done in the past or if it is something you have considered (Moderators), but would it be possible to split the Events and meetups section into regions such as North west, east, midlands etc just to make it a bit easier to narrow it down your own area?
Most threads are good at putting the town, or county in the title, but i still find it a bit awkward at times as i don't know where some of them are!
Cheers!

It was not DIY, it was built by Phil at ExtraEFI and the loom built by Shaun at MS2 tuning, so it is by no means a 'bodge' upgrade and the car has been running fantastically on it for over a year. Do you think it would be better with the standard Lucas ECU and distributor?! No! No distributor at all! It is so ancient. Just think about how much you've spent so fa for your "baby" . It is not N/A anymore. It is turbocharged! ... and it needs much more control options as well as 8x sequential ignition and injection. I'd look at MS3X or MS PRO at least. I have proven that it works, along with many others across the pond that an MS2 will run a V8 plus a turbo/blower without issue ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) . Wasted spark works fine for a turbo application and so will the batch fired injectors. EDIS 8 may be an issue if you need to run less than 10 degrees advance, or a spark cut limiter as it doesn't allow this, but i just modify my ECU's to use 4 spark outputs so it cuts out the need for the EDIS unit. MS3 is way overkill on a rover v8, unless your wanting major power or just want to over complicate things.

Yes another Cumbrian! Great project, looks like the Lorton valley to me? ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) keep up the good work. I thought I recognised the town in the third video, having just looked again, I used to cut a lot of the larger areas of grass visible between when he's reversed out of the driveway to getting out of the town. Been caught swearing at people in that narrow bit before because there's more than a few locals who seem to think a Transit tipper and a big flatbed trailer don't need 'any' space to maneuver, but I digress... I would also add its been a few months since I was doing that round, and I don't recall seeing the Volvo whilst I was on it. It was probably hidden down the side of the house where I was doing to work to it. Easily missed!

Do it man. The most expensive part was the ECU, but you could use that on another project if you wanted too afterwards or If the v8 blew up ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Once again, Boost in red, Throttle in green and rpm in white. This was 3rd gear, 1800rmp to 5100rmp. Boost came in at around 3500rpm. I don't know why the tps value dropped, i know the throttle was pinned! Ill add that to the list of jobs ![](http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l516/jrweightman/3rd%20gear_zpsgrssy5kl.png) I'm glad everyone likes the car aswell! If anyone wants to see any thing in particular, just let me know and ill do my best to get it

Full boost comes in around 3-4000RPM i think. Ill go out later on and do a pull right through 3rd gear from about 1500rpm and datalog it. I was logging the whole time i was recording the video above. The pull from the junction is shown below, moving through 1st,2nd and 3rd gears. Transient response is pretty good for the turbo. Boost is shown in red, RPM white and throttle position Green ![](http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l516/jrweightman/Spool_zpshbacfufk.png) On the old hillman i did have flat foot shifting setup which worked really well. The only downside is the stress that it puts on the turbo and engine from the heat created. This gets rid of the loss of boost between shifts and makes the car sound just like a rally car too

oh my. V8 and a turbo, well played. What gearbox is in it? Its currently got an LT77 5 speed in it. The car came with some paperwork that stated that it was new about 30k miles ago which is nice ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I have a spare R380 which is the later 5 speed out of an LDV pilot van. The ratios are near enough (although 1st is super short) but they are meant to be quite a bit stronger.

I'll second that vote, but if possible stick it nearer the passenger side in case the turbo oil seals fall to bits, covering the windscreen in oil (like the scene in the Battle of Britain!) Very unlikely though.

Lovely weather outside today so i've spent the first few hours of it fixing other peoples cars ![O_o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/browraise.png) Once they were out the way I pulled out the loose engine mount. Its had a right do and split itself in two! ![](http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l516/jrweightman/IMG_20160911_131535_zps1ynrstd6.jpg) The plan was to modify the brackets to take the later style mount that you can see in the top right of that photo. They are stronger, stiffer and 1/5 of the price of the old styly SD1 mounts that are on there currently. That will have to wait though as its a little more involved than drilling a few holes in the existing mounts. To do that I will need to take off the exhaust manifold to get to it and to do that the big gold pipe, down pipe, lambda sensor, turbo and the passenger side manifold will have to come out too. So yeah, That can wait for now. In the mean time, its basking in the sun with a liberal amount of tigerseal gluing it back together. I might order a new one from rimmer bro's, but at £25+post each, I'm in no rush. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) ![](http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l516/jrweightman/IMG_20160911_132834_zpstkqguuxg.jpg)

Can the plenum not be spun through 180 degrees to reduce the amount of intake piping? regardless, awesome bus! I'd love to, but the brake servo gets in the way. I have a spare plenum which i might take to work and modify if i get time to do so

Need to start a poll to see if we accept a name change to Obrut Ovlov Semaj.... I'm not that backwards am I ? Its handling the boost fairly well so far. Its running 9.something PSI which is about as far as i want to take it. As much as i like loads of power, i don't like it enough to put a new engine in every other week! I forgot about these in the haste to get the tread up on here, but if you would like to see yours truly with the amateur camera action and more info that i put in the first post, check out these two beauties: There is going to be a part three, but that's a way down the line as work commences on the garage this Wednesday and i've managed to loose all the footage that i took since the end of part two ![>:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png) James
