Not much progress as it took longer than I thought, but I've got a lock on my side door now! All other doors will be openable from the inside only, in a top-secret styleeee ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Tomorrow (or this evening should I get off my backside... smart money's on tomorrow...) should see the other side door finished

Man, with guesswork like that, you're never gonna win the pub quiz! lol I've actually been doing little bits here and there to it - the other side door is almost finished and will be hung this weekend - that (along with a lock on just one of the side doors and the last few bits of glazing to the windows) will make it secure. Well, aside from the big gaping holes in the front door of course.... Trouble is, I've got no money for continuing it any further at the minute - so can't afford any wiring, lighting, glass for front windows etc. so it's sort of come to a bit of a standstill for now. Maybe I shouldn't have bought the Lexus... lol Ho hum, I'll find some stuff to sell after the summer holidays (less people on ebay during the summer months!) and see what I can do then. On another note, I've got a load of insulation (cheers Phil!) that will keep the 'workshop end' of the garage warm at least! mrabody - if I can find a way of getting them collected, that'd be great, cheers! Guz - I'm not lazy, all my hand-saws are blunt.... honest! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Cheers for the comments everyone, it'll get done one day.... In the meantime, all offers of cheap or free stuff (I'm after 30 odd metres of 16mm 3-core SWA if anyone's got any lying around! lol) are greatly appreciated! Glass should not be an issue.... go to a double glazing company and tell them what you need and reclaim it from their skips, I know modern safety glass is shatterproof and explodes, but surely they still do single pane stuff replacement. That said, it may not work, just a thought. WRT Lights, again I would litterally stop at a sparkies van and ask him about refurbishments, and see if you can score the lights that way. Also contact local office maintenence/renovation guys, they often replace lights etc. When I get to building my woodwork room, which will only have a pair of interior cottage pane french doors (under a carport overhang eventually) no windows on the sides, due to where it is going. My neighbours sons work in office refurbishment, and Mickey has said he can get me some 7x4 foot sheets of toughened glass, they will make up a large proportion of the sheds roof, so at elast there will be light that way. Stuff is certainly out there if you look around. I know you're right Grizz, I'm just having a lazy few weeks (well, lazy in terms of the garage, busy in terms of gardening/prepping the house/garden for swmbo to start childminding....). I'm determined to get it weathertight and 'electrified' before winter sets in, reckon I should've bought an estate rather than the Lexus, for 'skip diving' (with permission) duties! Cheers, Martin

I've got one, just removed it the other day so I know it's working - £15 plus delivery (parcel2go or some such place should be under a tenner). As above, bit filthy but works fine!
Cheers, Martin

Sadly, the scrap yard doesn't let you remove anything after you've gone into their grounds.... Cheers for the offer tho!

I've just bought a 1996 Lexus LS400 (bizarrely cheaper to insure than the GS300!) with 176k miles on the clock (for well under your budget) and it's great! I've only had it a week or so and driven 150 odd miles in it, but so far, *everything* seems to work, and even on it's 18" rims the ride is smooth.
It bloody shifts too, floor it at 40mph, it kicks down into 1st and flies!
Still prefer my W126 though, if only it wasn't full of holes....

I've got a couple of steels that Guz gave me off a T25 (Cheers Guz!) - I'll be finished with 'em in a week or so, so you're welcome to 'em if you can arrange collection from up Derby way?

I need to drag my old Range Rover classic carcass to be made into sewer pipes, and am in need of a pair (singles also accepted! lol) of shitey scabby wheels with tyres that will hold air for 15 minutes...
Anyone got 'owt in the Derby/Notts-ish area? As cheap as poss please, as I'm only gonna get charged for leaving tyres on it!
Ta!

I need to find a better metal yard. They seem just to take mixed metal, or at least that's what they pay everything out as... They also only price by the ton... Anyone recommend a decent place for flogging windings, cats, rads, etc. in Nottingham? Not by the lorry load either. Zinder metals in Ilkeston do smaller stuff (they don't even have a weighbridge, just a large set of scales), or Ward Recycling (also Ilkeston) do stuff separately...

If someone wants to pay the money, it will sell and it is worth it. If they don't, it won't and it isn't.

If you haven't either got one or got anything useful to add, kindly move along. There are plenty out there - maybe not mint low mileage ones, but plenty nevertheless. Missed a 528 touring e39 on eBay with t+t that went for 510 yesterday.
