good skills! I love the embossed panel, the only other one I've seen had the whole "volkswagen" part of a caddy rear hatch grafted on. I did the heater matrix on my mk2 recently, I can sympathise with the absolute curse word of a job it is. how did you mount your fan? I'm thinking of getting one as mine is dead and it will look neater and make more room for an impending ABF

I thought this was gonna be my old one but obviously not, mine was a 96...
they go quite well with a 1242 in them, but mine was completely stripped out. took it on track at gaydon heritage centre at an auto italia show a few years back

2 things I'd like to mention, are you using wobble bolts on the wheels? As they're corsa wheels (4x100) and fiats are 4x98...
And also, put a 1242 MPI punto 75 engine in it, I put one in a cinq sporting I had years ago and it was pretty lively (but it was totally stripped out)

you should be able to pick up a gti/xsi/vts/hdi disc rear beam for around 100quid, just make sure the bushes are in good order otherwise its a waste of dollar, thats the main reason they get changed, easy way to tell is one or both rear hubs will have serious negative camber if the bushes are screwed. Then you'd just need 306 handbrake cables and some new flexi brake pipes. Its not as big a job as it sounds. still haven't seen this around yet lol

nice original early spec mk2 gti that. looks to have been kept very original, still has its vinyl strip down the sides and on the tailgate. If this is an A/B plate it should have mk1 style stripes lower down on the sides too, and no side repeaters, just little blanks. If its solid, do yourself a favour and clean it up and maintain it, standard early spec cars like this in good nick are worth a few quid. If you need any info/help with owt, give me a shout, on my 10th mk2 now and I know them pretty well

This will be nice with a T5, but I'm still desperately waiting to see one with a 200sx engine in it, rather like a certain black capri on here...

Is the shell a GTI? I wouldn't want a povo spec interior in a beast like that, I had to replace my GL one seats for 90spec rainbows just because my raging 112bhp required some lateral support lol

If I remember rightly the early spec ones don't even have the cut out stamp in the valance like later non gti's did, so its a shame you can't even trim the cutout, like I did on my GTD to fit a twin pipe. Anyways it still looks sick

I love a nice early spec mk2, had a few myself and I love that exhaust, nice take on the original design that, although a B plater would have had a single pipe rather than a twin pipe

I had a 90 spec 1.3CL with that pattern interior, I think ryder's have it too. I take it your front seats are poverty flat ones?

Standard GTD interior is identical to that of a driver, no bolsters, grey with a red/blue check pattern
