He's a useful bloke, helped me with loads of technical advice during me resto! And he tries his best to keep postage down but obviously it only works out cheaper if your getting a few bits reckon including postage I got my 70cc kit, racing conrod and exhaust for less than getting a kit over here He had trouble recently with postage law changes and stuff so think he's been a bit busy. Threw in a full set of circlips for me and a cool puch badge ;D Unfortunately it seems my throttle loop has got lost inthe post which is a shame. I reckon I'll be bodging the old one to fit. I saw about the brace thing, I think I means you need to adapt under the seat for it to be bolted - not sure if it's coz it's a universal part?

Actually rode it today ;D Had it running a few times, On and off. Think ive decided the condensor is buggered. Sometimes a great spark, Othertimes realy faint or none at all. Points are so clean now they could be new, Air gap for the stator coil and lighting coils is right, Points and plug gapped.. But it refuses to stay running cleanly. If I blip it or ride it its fine, But idling it fouls up and cuts out.. Ill get there tho ;D Going to wire in an external condenser later. On a plus note, After running it for a while it got nice and warm, The bearing rumble went away (its got new oil in the bottom end) and ive guaranteed it can actually lug my up the road... That being said,. It wouldnt pull the skin of a rice pudding.. 3 shoe clutch me thinks.... Oh and its only smoking very slightly rather than mega cloud... Which is nice ;D

Sign of a bad condenser is easy start but the warmer it's get it misfires an loose power A quick way to check if condensor is kaputtski : Look at the contact points when engine is running, a lot of sparks here & next step is a new one If there is material transfer from solid to moving point the condensor is bad opposite way is a bad coil sign also check so the moving point is not stuck on the axle, and drop a little of oil on the felt pad

Othertimes nothing. Most of the time it starts first kick. Othertimes nothing. Othertimes it splutters to life after about three kicks. The carb seems spot on. Appart from no idle (my miss adjustment of the cable) Revs well and doesnt seem to leak/ block or overfuel. Good tip on the oiling the felt pad and spindle... Knew there was somthing i was missing

Nice one dude! I had a go of mine too! (vid on my thread) Took a while to getit to idle but if you turn the screw with a spring on the side of the carb clockwise it increases the throttle stop - worth a go? Worked on mine! Glad yours is running better and not rumbling anymore ;D

Ive just gone on assuming that no one has touched it before me.

Haha thanks mate Yeah wind it right in and try and start it again should hopefully be able to idle then and once it's warmed up a bit wind it out slowly. Worked on mine How do you know if these things are overheating? What with no coolant or gauges, it only occurred to me when mine was running before that I had no idea how to tell! I'm not certain on the 'best' running in technique, do you know? I'm just not labouring it or revvin too high... Maybe have it sat idling for a bit then cool down then idle a bit again? Not sure how long you can safely have an air cooled motor idling? ;D

Not realy sure, They cool by moving obviously, But as for telling if its getting too hot, Do a "plug chop" and see what it looks like... Not something ive done before but ive read about it.
Realy if its running lean it'll get too hot... If its running rich itll flood up anyway...

Had a lil play with it again earlier as i was bored... Got an external condenser now mounted on the frame, Spark seems to be bigger, And more importantly constant rather than on and off.. But obviously the proof will be in the testing which ill do tommorow if i get a chance after sorting the misses saxo out.... Also modified the brace bar for the forks.. Fits now ;D Not sure what to do at the top of it as the weld has obviously ruined some of the chrome.... Might just paint it a funky colour ;D

WOOOOOO FREAKING HOOOOOOO shes a one kick wonder now Couldnt get on with the saxo so decided to give the puch a go.. Pulled it outside primed it up and kicked it. Runs first kick. Adjusted the throttlestop and its idling too!! Ive got it to the point i can just turn the fuel on, Pull the clutch and kick and it goes. No throttle messing Chuffed much!! Oh and i cut a new numberplate out , Rounded edges like the original but made of alloy so alot lighter. Looks better, Just needs painting and numbers adding Getting there slowly..

How did you do the external condenser mod? I'm pretty sure my Tomos has the same problem
