Model: Ford Cortina 2.0
Year: 1979
Tax: 31st march 2011
MOT: april 8th 2011
Location: Gosport
Price: £450
Additional Information:
Very strong 2.0 pinto with H&H electronic ignition. was fitted with bike carbs but they have been removed and fitted with a nearly new (done a few hundred or so miles) twin choke weber carb. electric fuel pump, ghia dash (has a faulty fuel guage) poly bushes on the rear. uprated springs (standard height from burtons). Ashley exhaust system and branched manifold. remote alarm. Have know the car for years when a friend of mine bought it after it had been stored for the best part of 16 years. he recommissioned it and spend hundreds and hundreds on parts to get it to how he wanted it. he then sold it to a guy he knew at work who decided to change the colour from its original signal yellow (which was perfect) to the satin black. he did not however do under the bonnet, door shuts, or in the boot. he removed all the body mouldings, headlining and interior. I have put the seats back in but the original front seats he ruined, so the racing bucket seats he fitted remain. I would imagine that he was going to try and do some sort of drag/Drift/rat look thing with it. The body itself is incredibly strong and solid with small blister in front of the windscreen (passenger side) and some bubbling has appeared on the rear arches. the boot lid could do with re painting or replacing as it had a Primera spoiler fitted. (removed because it looked completely awful)
Does have the sliding roof but this has been covered with a vinyl roof. and like I say it has no headlining. The car drives very very well and the steering is nice and tight with no knocks or clunks from the front
It did fail the last MOT (first failure since it was put back on the road 6-7 years ago) on having a split steering gaiter.
Happily, the paintwork was laquered after it was resprayed satin black, so it does get quiet a shine when polished up.
Cannot really see a reason why this car would not sail through another MOT and if I had the space I would be keeping it and doing it myself.
The granada front spoiler in the picture has been removed as have the vernier pulley, cam cover and the bike carbs. exhaust manifold has been changed as it had a crack but has been replaced with another four branch.
The diff does make a noise but has been no problem (typical Cortina my other one does the same)
Car is worth more in bits so if it does not sell I will break it for spares
More details please email or PM me
Will also be putting it ebay tonight.
Regards
Frankie
