doing bits and peices on the state to get it ready for classic ford i got like one day left and hadn't had the 2.8i engine up and running well at about 6:30 i decided to do the last of the odd bit's wired and plumbed turned it over and it fired right up with not to much trouble then all of a sudden i heard a loud knocking noise comming from the block area .
further checking still couldn't work out what it was so i pulled the engine and started removing the flywheel to go on the 2.8 auto we have at the workshop when the flywheel came off a 6" steel bar fell out from behind it turns out this is what was making the noise don't know where it came from but it must have been there since the engine was removed from the donor car normaly i would rebuild any engine before fitting it but due to the some what shortened time scale of this project decided to just fit as was the engine was rebuilt a couple of years ago for use in a track day capri so has high lift can steel timming gear ect, ect,,so shouldn't have needed to much anyway its all back in now runs sweet just a moments panic i realy didn't need ;D
