So, decided today was a good one to get the Scirocco back on the road (at last!). Did a few jobs- dizzy cap, leads, odds n sods before the main event: replacing the cracked windscreen.
Here's the crack:
Smashed the new one out as we needed to reuse the rubber:
And replaced it with our not so shiny, not so new replacement one:
And then roundabout the point of the last pic we managed to crack the new one as we tried to tease it in.
I took no more pics after this point, blinded by tears
So all in all, a bit of a waste of time. Although the new crack is much smaller and at the bottom of the screen rather than across the middle- still within the sweep of the wipers but we might get away with it if I catch the MOT chap on a good day. Nevertheless a bit of a gutter- just thought I'd share my misery.
