The Manta was designed when radios were much slimmer (the old twin spindle type), and doesn't have room for a modern stereo in the dash. To get it to fit you'd need to remove or severely modify the heater ducts, as that's what's behind there. In the later cars (85 model year on) Opel fitted modern style stereos, and used a plastic trim/spacer panel. They still stuck out of the dash, but had a nice piece of black plastic round them so it wasn't so obvious. These things turn up on ebay every so often, but usually go for silly money. Whether you can use something from Halfrauds or not I don't know.

Not relly I'm afrade, the laptop screens control unit is inbuilt part of the laptop so you cant have the screen without the rest of the laptop.

Are laptop screens a fairly universal part or specific to a particular machine? I always assumed they be specific to a particular model.

Are laptop screens a fairly universal part or specific to a particular machine? I always assumed they be specific to a particular model. -Ed Fairly specific I'm afraid Not specific at all! A few manufacturers (Dell springs to mind, and very old Sonys) use specific screens for each model but these days there are standard defining what kind of connector is on the back, the pinouts, and even the spacing of the mounting holes on the side. i'd say 70-80% of screens are interchangable in this way, assuming the specs (size and resolution) are the same. I work as a laptop technician, and i'm pretty good at robbing parts from all different models just to build a 'frankenstein's monster'... however you should note that the input to an LCD screen ain't anything you could use from a DVD player etc, it's all done with pixel clocks in a raw format instead of a nice simple video input. pm me if you wanna know more to save this going way off topic
