First off a pic of my mk2 cavvy We all know these have big arches so filling them with 195/45/15 is going to be difficult, the car is low but on the otherhand I want it lower, I don't want to spend 400 quid on a set up thats just 20mm lower than ive got so I'm thinking of getting the grinder out, looking at the springs theres a fair old gap so evan one oil will cause the spring to be loose in the carrier so I'm in a dillemma! I love the stance but I want it better so any ideas would be appreciated. What should I do? Or evan better what would most of you guys do?

Chop a couple of coils off and hope for the best Seriously though your sills are already getting pretty close to the ground, I'd say if you want nicer "stance" instead of just lowness you need bigger wheels.

First off, lovely color!
You need more tyre on the rims, or go 16". Then cut half a coil and see how it ends up. If they get too loose secure them somehow.
How on earth can that be scrubbing tyres? If it acctually does, it's waaaaay too soft, and you should really be looking at harder springs.
Spacers wouldn't do it bad either.
Even if you go coilovers and get it really low it'll just look weird with wheels that small.

Very nice man. Normally i don't like Vauxhalls but I'd roll in that!
Hard to see in the pics but are the wheels tucked or poked? How do you want it to sit? Agreed that if the tyres are scrubbing you either need to empty the boot or go for harder springs. Hows about bigger tyres at the back and just dropping the front a touch more? That might do it. Also are your inner arch lips rolled?

scrubbing tires sounds like a basic geometry issue, is the tracking or camber out, was it corrected when you first lowered it?

Have you already got uprated shockers? All you`ll do by cutting springs is cause it to handle like a turd. On my mk2 cav ive got it lowered 40mm with 195/50/15`s and theres a huge gap around the wheel.Tried a 55 on it but wasent much better. Only choice id say is bigger wheels rather than lowering any further.

I agree with the Dude's wisdom. Your wheelarches are like empty caverns, you really shouldn't be scrubbing tyres with that setup. I would be going for a lot more sidewall radius on that thing, perhaps 195/70R15? Or maybe 195/65. What was it from stock?
If sidewall isn't your thing then definitely look for bigger wheels, you will never get those things tucked into the arches until your sills start scraping along the ground!

surely the weight of the car should prevent the spring from moving around if you cut one coil off? have you thought about rolling the arch lip? heres a tutorial really like your car by the way! the other choice is to buy coilovers, the car will handle better and you can get the ride height perfect.

Could cut a coil off but I'm worried about mot time, yea the tracking is out tbh.
Would it be dangourous if i cut a coil, as in I'm not looking for handeling i just want a stance!
corsa b springs fit the rear so that aint a prob!

I'm no expert on it but; If you do it properly (Ha, ironic that), cutting a coil is fine. Just make sure the spring doesn't dislocate out of the cups with the suspension at full travel. You can wire it to the cup if you have to. Just remember that you can take more off a spring, but you can't put it back on.

IMHO, you need 16" or 17" wheels to get anywhere near filling them arches, which judging how it sits now, should give you just a little tuck on the rears. If you haven't already, then get the arches rolled as previously suggested. Only other way is to roll with larger sidewalls, but that will probaby look a bit poo ! Nice car btw

See how much travel you've got left on the shocks at that height. Might be easiest just to fit a weld on coilover conversion.

Perhaps 205/50R15 will make it look better.

no definitely 165/50/15. if the tyre is tucked in the arch there is less chance of it scrubbing on the arch

You have looked at the spec re the 2012 new MOT regs ? There is a section in there ( still under discussion) about arch to tyre clearances.

165/50 15s on a car that originally used 175 R14 tyres as standard iirc would look stupid. He already has a big arch gap, 165/50s would look just as bad as 175/50 13s do on 95% of cars.
I'd see why they're rubbing first, but keep those tyres and lower it more.

I haven't seen the new regs, but when the time comes I'll just raise the car a tad
