i was sat in an indian restuarant in Newquay and a Brat pulled up.... very nearly deserted my Vindaloo to go and perv but they were only picking up takeaway.
had an R/C Brat, but for some reason on a monster beetle chassis not the one pictured. odd, but it meant i could use school's vacuum former on my mate's monster beetle body and get cheap disposable bodies.

Those Brats (they weren't called that in the UK were they?) are PROPER El-Camino cool. Love them. I remember reading a road test of them in an early 80s CCC mag when I was a kid, and the rave review had me fascinated! Brilliant. Haven't seen one for YEARS! There's probably 3-4 I see on a semi-regular basis round here - like I say, if you got a good dealer you'd get a few in an area, and they're probably as much as an off-roader a farmer would need round these unhilly parts. They're all like that K-reg one I posted, but there was a round light one I used to see in Ipswich back in the early 90's, and a garage in Suffolk had a tidy A-plate one for £1500 2-3 years ago.

reanimation in da house: Is it worth looking international for a decent brat type thing, if so where?
I would say California or Arizona although the Brat a friend in Cali owned had rust int even in that climat. I don't know what kind of steel was used in the Brat but I have yet to see one without brown spots or huge holes, come to think of it the Brat must be made in the same place and of the same low quality steel as the Skoda PickUp....
DP says: the Brat is a killer little truck specially with the seats in the bed, safety first......
