Like someone else said that even as a relative newbie I instantly recognised the HKP name and got a mental picture of a gorgeous car.
Who knows what to say about something as sudden and unexpected as this? I don't other than to say what a great community RR is by seeing how many people want to reach out to, and offer help, support or even kind words to those that HKP cared for.
In a cynical cynical world it's strangely reassuring to see the love felt here.
My dad was a bike nut, so we had a no cars, bikes only funeral procession. If the family accepted it, perhaps a procession of cool retro, J, Euro, low, rat, polished, cultured, OEM rides to see him out would be fitting? If I speak out of turn I mean no offence as I cannot claim to know HKP, but what I do see is his love of cool cars.

Though I did not know him personally I certainly recognise the J tin instantly with cars that show what RR means to all of us Its a very odd thing to be linked to people simply by a love of a similar feeling towards what is FTW in personal transport. My thoughts are with his family and friends and from what he showed on here a man whos light burned very brightly.

I didn't have the pleasure to know Si. I have however had the pleasure to see his cars and his posts.
He seemed to be one of those people who just knew how to build a good car and what would look right.
Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Thanks for the extra info about the crash. Don't know why but it does actually help a little.
I sold Si a Datsun 180B estate last year but never met him because he sent a transporter down for it. Still feel like I know him as he was always on here and we exchanged emails last month about his proposed engine conversion. Wonder if he actually started work on that?

Only been on a few days so can't say I knew him.
You all speak so highly of him and remember him fondly which is the greatest tribute that you as a community can give!
All that remains to be said then is RIP and my sincerest condolences.

Jeeez, just seen this and didn't recognise the HKP sig to begin with.
I knew Si from the old FTOOC days (he was MrBishi) and some good years at Billing with his nicely modded FTO. Had a couple of cool chats with him about car stuff and as everyone has said, he was a top bloke. I followed his thread of rebuilding his RX7 FB with interest, car guy through and through.
Bit stunned really as that has swiped me outta the blue.
Max up the boost Si and have a good'un, there's one less of the good guys left now.
AL.

Thanks for the extra info about the crash. Don't know why but it does actually help a little. i'm with you on that, really dunno why. think its something to do with his last moments driving the car he loved, really don't know. it was only a few days ago when he was giving me advice (for the umpteenth time) on my front suspension build, this whole job will now be done with the man in mind- without his advice and encouragement it may never have gone ahead. i'm just gutted that i never really managed to give anything back- every 18RG i found for him was out of his budget! The man liked a bargain- and once he'd found one of those himself cheap enough, I've been helping him on the lookout for a scimitar axle for his celica. We had a deal that i'd have his AE86 LSD from his garage and halfshafts from the T series axle on his car, once a scimitar one had been sourced. It just goes to show what a generous man he was knowledge wise as well as letting mates have parts for a good price simply cos they were enthusiasts. 99% of the conversations we had was him helping me, and i think that sums the lad up more than anything. I miss you already mate sorry for keeping up the sad tone a bit, i'll come round
