I'm making some mods and fixits in the next few coming months and could do with someone to give a blast over the new: wing/bumpers/basic arch repairs with moondust zilver. Looking for someone with the kit willing to do it at an affordable price. Could be useful info for others too.

problem is that silvers can be a right pig to match well, so you'd need to blow in about half the length of the car and across the bonnet to lose a new wing nicely. Thats why so many accident repaired cars you can see new panels a mile off, especially on the silver ones. Some silvers are worse than others though, depends on the tinters and the base stock apparently. Although often its just in how the paint lays out. I tried a local repair on a silver car and I used the same paint I'd sprayed it with, out of the same batch, same can and everything, and you could see it if you were a blind man. Right pee'd me off that did.

To be fair its the same for most metallics. My old Stiletto had to have the whole side resprayed after some little f*ckwit ran a key down the back wing two weeks after it was painted. Death would have been too kind for him...

If i find a new cheap bonnet i'll do that too. mines got all kinds of lumps and bumps in it. too much dukes. no it wasn't me! LOL I'm not overly fussed, it is only my daily, i'd have a go myself if i had a dustless garage and compressor etc. Just need a new wing putting on and some tidying...

If its just dents, it might be worth getting one of those 'Dent Master' folks over to knock em out for you - or at least get a quote.

All depends how "precious" you want to be about it. Shame you're not closer really.

basically; better tyres = better bigger wheels. new springs = new can of worms, New wing req'd and arch tidy up = new bumper = new bumpers = paint! then thats the bulk of it anyway! on a budget but looking after the old thing.

My good friend has his own bodyshop, been in the trade 10 years and has painted a lot of magasine featured cars, including his own. Not sure on what budget your looking at paying, but basic rule of thumb is £100 per panel worked on if minimum prep work is required.
He's down in Dorset though!

Well thats the thing. As its my always MOT'd DD car i can go anywhere in it. If I get the Ventora to CARS (looking very unlikely ATM) you can look at the paint on that, see if you'd trust me to tackle yours, see if we have a spot anytime when we both are free. However, if you prep it yourself most any bodyshop should be able to waft on a few coats of silver and blend it reasonably well, annd by the time you've paid petrol to come down here and back will you have saved yourself much for the trouble? Unless theres a more local RR'er with the kit to do it for you (must be?)

Thanks for the advice/help, i may take up offers, must be someone local yeah. Its on the list for the nearish future - post CaRS, once i have summat else to run about in. I'll try do all or most of the prep. Me dad successfully sprayed various cars in his garage in the past; Scimitar, Allegro, etc, but its a lot more cluttered and dusty than it used to be there.
