That Landy is simply awesome, it's the first time i've seen at RTTS for a few years. IIRC last time it was there it was powered by a 3.9 TVR lump, there was a big out cry at the time that this particular Landy had been used as it's reputed to be from 1948/49!!!! Check out the headlights behind the grille as in all super early models! Perhaps next year we should try for a proper RR contingent to make the exodus to North Cornwall?

That tru-flamed Thames van (Pop) has been on the scene for years although this is the first time I've seen it with that new paint. It's Dolomite Sprint powered and way back when it was first built ran Dolly Sprint wheels too.

I just hapened to be on holiday near Newquay aswell last week. Went into Newquay to have a look round and it was manic. Shame i didnt see that Stiletto around as i know that car and its fantastic. I saw so many great cars around Bugs and Rods. I would like to take my Nymph next year or maybe the Chamois if its finished.

Looks like it was a good RTTS this year - seems the spirit of the event is still very much alive - some great pics of some ace cars there. Having spent much of today looking at all the pics of the lovely J cars at the Hot Olds meet & the vee dubs at woerthersee, Looking at these pictures from RTTS has made me realise that we can still 'roll a fat one' here in the UK. For such a small place we certainly have a real variety of different cars to keep us all happy BTW did that FB Victor used to be white - and a local to NQY?

BTW did that FB Victor used to be white - and a local to NQY? It's a local car - My girlfriend works with the owners girlfriend. I'll try and gather some more info about the car when we meet up with the owner! I know it's for sale...

I've gotta say I'm totally in love with this bug. When we next see them I'll get some more pics... The thing is so low, we were going down the road and every tiny little surface ripple sent huge sparks out the back. Definitely not a good idea to have 5 people in it... He also owns a slammed matt black Volvo Amazon wagon which I'll also be getting pics of. It's coming up for sale soon and I'm SO tempted to buy it.

Its just a perfect pic of some lad dossing about in his car, which happens to be as cool as a m***a f***a.

He'd been tinkering under the bonnet of the Landy for a while (I spotted fuel injected Rover lump but don't know size) and obvioously fixed what was wrong so had a cruise round the show I couldn't beleive it when I first saw it too! Great choice of base material!

This is owned by a friend Jon, he was camping with us down in St Ives and snuck off early on Sunday morning for a poke around the show, I guess that's the bonus of not drinking your own body weight in cider on Saturday night. It's so cool with the aged rims and colour combo... This is Clive, an old mate who bought it from Steve the guy who built it, another buddy (as posted a while back). Clive's lowered it some more since buying it and the front lower suspension arms are currently about an inch off the ground. I love this thing with an unhealthy passion and as MrB says it's a top example of somebody just messing about in a motor. Mostly pre-49 just to pish the Hot Rod boys off... Had mixed feelings about RTTS over the last two years, I went for ten years and saw it decline from a car event to a huge drug addled dance event with a car show tacked on at the end... Glad to see it's still going but not sure if I'll ever be arsed to go again. I'm getting old... Oh, and the green Mk2 Passat estate is owned by a guy called Philip Lord Norman (yup, another chum), or Filthy on the lowrider forums. He bought it recently after tapping up the owner outside a shop in Bath where he lives... Top tattoo artist if anybody is interested, works out of Woodys Tattoo parlour in Wycombe.

Yeah it does attract a lot of barry boys / pilled up ravers - some of them don't even know about the car event (some of 'em don't even know their own first names!) but the event is so vast that you can quite happily immerse yourself in whichever part of it you want. Personally, I think they should get a few rock bands in to re-dress the balance, maybe in a smaller tent. Not massive rock legends necessarily, but maybe something for those who aren't too keen on trance and sh!te like that. However much I don't like the music there, I think it adds to the festival atmosphere and it's all pretty harmless.

But it just got to the stage where we were just circling in between friends caravans, avoiding the arena and walking into town because of the traffic. We now go to a different place, 20-30 of us and just do our own thing for a fraction of the cost. So I guess that's us making the most of the weekend... It just used to be a lot more car orientated, you'd get lines of people sat around on the roads watching cars doing loops around trevelgue all weekend... Impromptu lowrider dance offs and much more laid back vibe even though it was still rammed busy. I had a couple of bad experiences at the last few we went too that made it more hassle than it was worth, anybody remember the Sierra doing doughnuts near the arena with 'Chardcore' written down the side? Nearly took out a kid... Like I say, I'm getting old ;D

Must say we were a bit peeved at being sprayed with water cannons while sat in the traffic through Newquay on the way out of the show. They managed to get Isabel one time too. I ought to be able to cruise through the town, window open, without my baby daughter getting sprayed like that. Seemed to mostly be the modern car lot that were doing it. Even saw a local woman getting shot at - a sure way to help the public image of the show!!

It is an issue, and the council / police are trying to put a stop to it as it's getting out of hand - people putting brake fluid / battery acid in the water pistols, people opening car doors and dumping buckets of water on drivers laps (this happened to my friend some while back). It's a pain in the ar$e, and you're constantly scanning the road ahead for tw@ts with supersoakers

It's the same f0ckwits who go to Benidorm / Torremolinos and smash the place up "cos they're on holiday, innit" - they think because they're away from home they can act like cants and get away with it.
