The inlet tracts are slightly smaller but at first glance they look fat enough to be a 325 manifold. The actual port end of the manifold where the little orange gaskets are gives it away as they are smaller.
My mate inadvertently fitted one to his newly built motor and it was misfiring and coughing out the manifold at low revs and tickover, after hunting for an air leak he found a big one where the ports on the side of the head were bigger than the gaskets on the manifold.
I have a spare 325 one in my garage and have just measured the internal diameter of the ends and they are 55mm across the centre. The throttle body is 65mm ID

Thanks for that. I'll pop out with a ruler in a minute and check.
Are you going to Gaydon or Santa Pod this year?

I'll look out for your car. Hopefully mine will be done in time.
Inlet manifold was the correct 2.5 item - thanks.

Well a change of direction approaches.
I've sold the M52 setup and this will be getting pulled out in the next month. I took the old girl to York Dragway today where it managed a new best of 13.97 @ 98mph, so a good send off.
Once the lump has been removed the car will be pushed up the driveway where a winter of fun awaits it. It is going to become a fully space framed monster with separate chassis & cage with the bodywork there for appearances only, oh and a V12 shoved right back, 9" Ford rear end and a healthy shot of gas.

Just to update this, I kept the M52 setup. Sourcing another shell to molest for the drag car project.
Jobs to do:
Replace vanos seals New front ARB drop links New exhaust manifold Some new front tyres (divvy for not getting the tracking done after fitting M3 eccentric front arm bushes) Tracking done
Bodywork, some day........................

It would have been a shame to see your m52 ripped out so am glad you've had a change of heart. I managed to get my swap pretty much finished. Forward vid to 2.55.

Still plodding on with the E30 daily. Ran a few passes at York Dragway yesterday and managed another 13.9 1/4 run. Recently added some vintage Pioneer stereo

I was going to say. Glad you had a change of heart. I like the combination of the rondells, chrome and of course the 24v engine . I shall be honest, your thread is a little inspirational in making me consider one!

Great engine swap! My mate drives an E36 328i and we drive a E30 316i for the Carbagerun. Can't imagine how much better the E30 will drive with the 328i engine ^-^

If you get a decent shell, use decent quality bits and do your homework, you can end up with a pretty potent little car that is still happy plodding around as a daily, but can also shovel it when you need it to.
I've had mine clocked for 0-60 time at 5.6 seconds
