About six or seven years ago, I borrowed a mk1 Fiesta for a week. It was a 1.3 Ghia, and it was a torque-steering wobbly pile of curse word. Naturally I declared that mk1 Fiestas were sh1t. Then last week Old Skool Cortina hassled me into selling him my Sapphire GLX, as he'd just got a new caravan.... which meant this was "spare":- So a deal was done! It runs badly, so I may need some advice on timing and carb set up soon. But it's bloody fantastic fun! These may also find their way on at some point: ...the infamous Star Wars wheels! So I'd just like to say sorry, I was wrong. Mk1 Fiestas are THE sh1t.

I remain unconvinced on fiesta's. I have yet to experience one that was in no way unpleasant.

Hey that looks sweet! Love mk1's!!!! (although i've never driven one I don't think?) Never seen those wheels before?? What are they from? I've always liked them on RS 4 spokes or pepperpots, they don't even need lowering IMO, just look right

Lovely. Is it that ace light metallic greeny/blue? That's a great sleeper colour. Mk1 square lamps just look so pleased to see you. IMHO spots look better on the grille though.

Shocker! Looks a neat en, after driving a 'family car' owt like this feels nippy as hell! I've had two fast uns, they were great fun. I realy don't want another, but i do keep being tempted! Cheap to run around town i'll recon though.
Star Wars™ wheels are ace!

Cheers guys!
Yeah, it's pale metallic green. It's had a new carb fitted which needs setting up, and the dizzy's been apart recently and feels like the weights might still be sticking a bit. But it's ideal for going to work in and taking stuff down the tip / general van-type use.
I'd agree old Fiestas aren't perfect, the steering's pretty heavy and the steering wheel's at a funny angle!
The wheels are 6J 15" Ford items, date stamped 1986. I've only ever seen one other set which were on a yank Escort, so I guess that's where they're from originally...

Everyone wants one now I find they all run relly badly and theres not alot that can be done about it unless you start swapping bits about. Ford just cocked up relly. loose the spots, bumpers ,badges, slam and fit those skinny wheels sprayed black if you must

My dad had one from new till it was 21 years old, it was always a bit spluttery and generally curse word-running. Shonky Ford carbs!!!

:)Two things stick in my mind about MK1 Fiestas..one being the permanently on when ign. on rad fan, and surely they must have been the last cars to feature a foot operated button to operate the screen washers!

I only had 1.3 (probs a 1.6 ) and a 1.6 both with nice webers so i never got those partic probs! apart from the carb i'm gonna recycle, this is the only bit i still have available for free collection, perhaps a manual too if it can be found.
